Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Jays didn't play well, gallardo was garbage most of the day, jays made it easy on him. It's do or die now.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Go get them tomorrow. We weren't sweeping anyway.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 What do the other playoff teams have in terms of rest for their starting pitchers?
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Anyone else not concerned at all? We are facing 3 lefties in a row now 2 of which are s***, this series could very well be over in 4. Donaldson was taken out as a precaution and he passed his tests, bautista the same.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 No. Because the pitcher is throwing every couple days in between the starts. It's not like he went on vacation in the meantime. Yeah. People are acting like he's been sitting on his couch eating doritos for two weeks.

If everyone is healthy I like our chances
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Is there actually anything tangible suggesting that that a long layoff has a negative impact on a pitcher's performance? we just observed it

Yeah should not be underestimating the rangers...... Down 1-0 after our ace pitched at home and hamels going tomorrow...you should be somewhat concerned.
Peachybrush Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Jesus, one bad game and 60/94 pages of people already conceding the series. This is why people don't like Toronto fans for any sport. Pick your f***ing chins up for f*** sales. Just ripping on your players all the time when they aren't playing at all star levels. Athletes have ups and downs, they are human. Still fully believe this is the jays series to lose. Have some goddamn confidence people, otherwise you deserve a first round exit. To many years of losing in Toronto have sullied you guys way to much.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 It's a best out of 5 so lets put this one behind and win the next three, we do have the best team in the MLB. Nothing went our way today, it will be different tomorrow. Lets keep a positive attitude. I don't blame Price, I blame it on the 11 days rest. The risk of 11 days rest is losing your edge. Texas has already been playing playoff baseball.

Well when you drop Game 1 in a 5 game series you're at a big disadvantage. So we should all be concerned at least a little bit.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Gibby sounds like he has the flu.

Except they have to face hamels. They should have crushed yovani but didnt . winning 3/4 is tough.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Yeah should not be underestimating the rangers...... Texas is one of the best road teams in the league all year,so we may have to take this series, and win it on the road.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Is there actually anything tangible suggesting that that a long layoff has a negative impact on a pitcher's performance? Routine. Tangible evidence that good pitchers pitch well on regular rest. This whole experiment is blowing up in Gibbons face. Hopefully Stroman can change thart. Hes on 9 days rest.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 we just observed it We just observed Price having a below-average start. He does that multiple times every year. Blaming it on his rest is lazy.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Well that sucked some serious ass. Hey Dave, how about next time you don't get too cute and take 11 days off from competitive baseball?

Yeah, definitely no reason to panic just due to one game from the series perspective. The bigger concern is our health, but as long as JD and Bautista is fine and can play tomorrow the advantage is still with us IMO, because the Beltre injury definitely looks more serious than our two injuries. They'll be missing hit bat in the lineup a lot for sure.

They probablity of winning this series just went from 50 something to probably 20 something.

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I dont know man, I feel we are the far superior team, however baseball playoffs are very unpredictable.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I dont know man, I feel we are the far superior team, however baseball playoffs are very unpredictable. We are the better team...best team does not always win in a playoff series.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Jays are toast.....not looking good. Might be a quick playoff exit... Even if it is it was all worth it
