metafour Verified Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Good luck with that. My fiancee calls fantasy baseball, "fake baseball" and gets upset when I "waste time" with it. Good thing I only have 9 teams this year. Did you get Matsui?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Vlad Jr and Bo both starting the year in AA as expected
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Biggio is going to be the third wheel with Vlad and Bo in every stop, isn't he? Not sure how much of a prospect he actually is, but it would be cool if he turns into something.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 ^Some decent depth in the upper minors for once.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 I don't see Alford on any DL list there, assuming he's starting in AAA?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 I don't see Alford on any DL list there, assuming he's starting in AAA? Lucky f***er keeps getting hurt while he's on the big league roster. He's getting big league paychecks and accruing service time. Dalton Pompey is on the big league DL too. Pretty sure that is what's happening.

That's worth a lot considering players make nothing in the minors.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 both mcguire and jansen at buffalo........ cant imagine it good for development to be sharing C duties. or the plan is to promote the better performing of the two in June
CBlake Verified Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Will be interested to see how quick a promotion comes for Vladi if he has a hot start to the season, first month or so? Will be interesting to see how they plan to proceee with this kid.

Honestly catching 5 times/week is such a grind that they'll wear down faster. You can do a lot of development outside the actual games.

Those guys would have to destroy the competition in AA and the Jays would have to have a reasonable shot at the playoffs to force Shapiro. Instant influx of offence. I hope the Jays are looking to sign both to long term deals. Take a risk like the Rays did with Longoria way back when.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Hey guys just FYI, prospect maven Kiley McDaniel thinks Bo Bichette is a future 50 hitter (~.255 avg). Byron 12:46 How does Bo Bichette have a present hit tool grade of 30? That must be an error, right? Kiley McDaniel 12:48 Nope, it's a future 50 and if it was a current 50, he'd be in the big leagues. He's played one season in A-Ball (with unsustainable BABIPs, so don't scout the stat line) so 30 is about as high as you can go. If he goes bonkers this year, it might be a 45 or 50 at the end of the year, but I'd expect it to be more like 40, then around 50 in late 2019 or 2020
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Kiley is kind of a **** TBH. Mark 12:23 Any truth to the rumor that if other teams knew what the Blue Jays did about Nate Pearson, he would have been in the conversation for 1.1? Kiley McDaniel 12:24 It's not a rumor, the Jays GM said it. And how would anyone know if there's truth to it? What did the Blue Jays know? Based on our top 100, we would've had him in the top 10 picks if they draft was this winter so maybe?
