I'd like to see Ricky Tiedemann called up to come from the pen once the AA season is done if he puts up good numbers once back. He could be a real weapon if we make the playoffs. He won't have reached his innings limit.

Good outing for Ricky today..2 innings, no hits ,no walks, 3 k's.

We can fap again.

Enmanuel Bonilla with by far his best game of the season:

4 for 5, 2 3B, 1 2B, 1 K

Nice to see!

Scratch that, he's 5 for 6 now :D

David Guzman also 3 for 5 with a 3B. He's also 17 and signed for $650K. Super short at 5'7 but he's had a few multi-hit games recently.

Barriera back up to Dunedin:

3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K

He back!

Need to see those K's go up as well as the velo. He was supposed to be a more polished version of Tiedes with the same velo. Reports still sound decent, but he's like 91-95 I believe, currently, and hasn't had a ton of swing & miss this far.

2B/RF going forward would work great

I think that will be 2 best positions. He can play SS and 3B but not his strengths.

I would disappointed if he ended up in RF though. I would like to see if he can stay on the Infield. He has enough arm to play 3B.

Still think it will be Orelvis at 3B longterm. Barger would be more of what they thought Biggio could be. Solid enough at 3B/2B/RF to play every day somewhere even if it is at a different position frequently

Came into camp too heavy apparently.

And with a lot of time off since he stopped pitching his senior year and didn't pitch again until fall instructs and Spring Training. Velo should return next season I would imagine if he puts the work in

Ya. Let's hope this was just a blip

Too heavy as in fat or muscular?

The only player in recent memory I can think of that came to camp to muscular was Jeremey Pena. He's definitely on gear and his tree trunk arms can no longer get the bat through the strikezone.

Unclear. If I recall he was a fairly slender build last year. Hard to think he'd just turn into a fatso. Feels like he'd more likely be a bulk up kind of guy.

Keith Law released his mid-season top 60.

Jays 0

Arjun got an honorable mention

I feel this is actually a good sign.

I hate seeing guys who think they suddenly need to "bulk up". Sure, you might need to get stronger and add muscle, but ya gotta do it right for your sport. Muscle building for pitchers vs position players is very different, and overall very different from MLB to other sports.

Im not sure why any pitcher would think bulking up would be the answer to anything. Look at the best pitchers in history… or even the best guys now. Pretty much all of them look like scrawny dorks.

Strong legs, core, back and shoulders for sure, along with forearms. But yeah bulking up in what most people traditionally think when they hear that term would be idiotic for pitchers.

Yeah Spencer Strider did it right. Quadzilla looking dude who uses those legs for all the velo he has.

They mentioned on Blair and Barker this past week that he was the unfit type of overweight. They insinuated that the brass were not happy about it.

Spencer Horwitz is on a tear in AAA as he has hit 5 home runs in his last 6 games.

With a bunch of doubles also. I'd like to see us sign a left fielder with power and have Horowitz assume Belt's role starting next season. Varsho should only be starting roughly 30% of the time while also providing speed and defence as a replacement late in games. I just hope Ross isn't still around when these decisions are made. We don't need another one year vet signing for over $10M when there are in house options that can provide pretty much the same.
