Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Fair enough. He's 19 yeah, but he's extremely advanced. 30 IP at A 28 IP at A+ Both dominant. I guess we'll see how long it takes for them to bump him up. I'm not questioning his skillset, mate?

Better to hit adversity in the minors than the majors. There's lots of time.

There's also the development aspect on this, let him gain confidence and eat up a league much older than his age, it'll do wonders. He won't see the Majors till '24 at best. Dude's wet behind the ears in pro-ball.

If he’s good enough, promote him. Maybe he’ll shove and we’ll see him late next year. I’d agree though that that decision depends on way more than his box score.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Orelvis got robbed of his 3rd hit of the night. Line drive to SS who made a great catch. Also reached base bia a HBP Another rocket single. 3-4, with a HBP as well. Could have been 4-4

Nah, could be detrimental, leave him there, give him multi/single innings possibly in AA, start him in Dunedin while it's warm next year and bring him up tp NH next season. Smart move.

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Dahian Santos (who I hope becomes so famous my phone stops changing his name to Fabian) pitched a gem today. 7 k, 2BB, 2H, 0ER over 5 innings Maybe he replaces zulueta in high A? This is good to see. His last couple outings were not great, nice that he came back strong this time.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Irv Carter was shelled. 3.1 IP, 11 H, 5 R, 0 BB, 3 K, 2 HR
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Samad Taylor, another home run tonight. So far 11%bb, 21%k, 1.70 iso, and a 3.55 obp with a normal babip for him. He hasn’t maintained all the power from last year but he’s certainly cut the strikeouts. That’s still only a 112 WRC+ and he has only really played LF and 2B this year, and he’s another rightie. He’s really started to hit the last couple of weeks tho so let’s see if it continues. He’s still only 23 so I’m still interested.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 What’s gonna be interesting these next few seasons is how the less power/more contact guys do. With far more swing and miss in the game today, there will be a point that the doubles power contact guys (assuming they can still play D well enough of course) will be back to being sexy again to provide a solid floor rather than the high ceiling Especially if the shift gets banned and more grounders will be getting through
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Author Posted June 26, 2022 Maybe it's already been mentioned and I missed it, but does anyone know why Luis Meza hasn't played since June 14?
RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Send his ass to Vancouver already.
TobiasFunke Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Any chance Frasso goes straight to NH?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Any chance Frasso goes straight to NH? Id say very little. Next stop should be Vancouver and probably soon
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Orelvis singled to RF to start today. Now 4-5, with a HBP in his last 6 PAs. Would have been 5-5 if not for this catch last night

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Is Frasso fantasy relevant? In deep leagues with big minor league rosters, why not?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 In deep leagues with big minor league rosters, why not? Yep, this. The more he pitches this season with similar results will propel him up rankings
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Just noticed Dasan Brown has a 132 wRC+ in A ball. Not bad.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Just noticed Dasan Brown has a 132 wRC+ in A ball. Not bad. Needs to work on his stolen base efficiency. With 80 grade speed, and the ability to play CF, could see him as a bench OFer some day.
RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Frasso promoted to Vancouver according to Arden Zwelling. Part of me wants to keep developing these guys as starters slowly but another part of me sees the stuff and wants them in the MLB pen next week lol
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Is there an alternative for the MLB.com player tracker that doesn't seem to be working anymore?
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Hate being optimistic about pitchers but it sure feels like the Jays have several bullets in that chamber that are very close to working their way into MLB/40 man consideration. And by close I mean some starting later this season and the rest next season. If it was just 2 or 3 guys I wouldn't even give it a second thought, but it's more like 10-12 guys so you'd think at least a few of them will stay healthy and not wash out.

It takes a lot more than health. Even if all 10-12 stay healthy, chances are only 2, 3 if we are lucky, will become valuable MLB'ers.
