As much as I love prospect content BA doing an updated list now just so that they can be the first to put Anthony Volpe into the top 25 (something I did back in April, taking him number 1 in my NPD in June) is just somehow wrong. But he'll be number 1 soon.

What the f***, I can't believe this is actually true.

Yup, I've been amazed by that as well (and actually bWAR has him at 42), but after his first two seasons he never had a single negative value season. And defensive metrics across the board loved him all the way through the end of his career. He also always hit decently. You combine that with one of the more consistent careers I've ever seen, and you have a recipe for a guy who you would never think would have 40 WAR but hits it.

What's wild is he also missed games consistently each season in his career. With a few more games each season he would have been shockingly close to 50 bWAR.

Post the listing, please.

Jesus - he's having an incredible year.

Bisons had themselves a day. They won 20-3 against Rochester.

Kevin Smith: 5-for-7

Otto Lopez: 4-for-6

Cavan: 3-for-5 with a grand slam

Gregory Polanco: 2-for-3 with a homer.

Trent Palmer (our 3rd round pick last year) Since August 4:

31.1 IP

2.84 ERA

2.47 FIP

35.7 K%

11.1 BB%

.164 OPP BA

7 inn no hitter on Aug 19.

And then today he just threw another 7 inn no hitter with 9K and 2 BB!

He's going to shoot up prospect rankings!

Slow down poncho, Dunedin is low A now and he is 22. Love the results, but let’s not get all “top 100” crazy yet. He’s also walking more than 6 per 9 innings so far.

LOL did I say top 100?? If I wanted to say that I would have. I said hes going to shoot up prospect rankings, as in Jays rankings.

Doubtful unless he gets those walks under control.

Getting Biggio actually healthy and back up in the big leagues would be a huge boon for our playoff chances. He's a difference maker when healthy.

He’s a difference maker in the field at 3b, sure. Just not in the way you mean

He figured something out since the beginning of August. Walks have dropped pretty significantly. I think he will be pretty interesting to follow going forward.

He's not a third baseman, but a lefty 120 wRC+ bat (if healthy) would be an awfully nice addition.

They should get him reps at CF. Dickerson is not a CF and Grichuk is not a hitter.

This. 100%

If Springer won't be returning to CF this year, Biggio might be a huge part of our outfield.

Seems like a massive experiment at this point in the season.

Biggio is REALLY struggling with the stick in AAA. He might not be right or healthy.

It's all based on the premise that he's healthy and is rounding back into quality starter he was in 2019/20. Dickerson in CF seems like a big experiment too doesn't it? He played 27 games in CF before this year...and they were all between 2013 and 2015.

I guess at this point, we're hoping Grichuk gets hot again and is our starting CFer?

I checked out Palmer's stats since the start of August and they are indeed much improved. His BB/9 is down to 3.72 over the last 6 weeks. While still obviously not great this is a sizable drop from the 6.00 average for the season.

I would imagine the plan is something like:

- They run a sort of platoon in CF but not exactly a true platoon where Dickerson plays against every RHP. Dickerson would play against some RHP, Grichuk might still play half the time or more, and Dyson would replace both defensively.

- They pray to Jesus that Springer can man CF at some point after a few more cortisone shots.

If they wanted Cavan to come up and cover CF at all I would imagine that he'd be getting reps in CF in AAA.

Plan D if there are injuries would probably be Palacios or Mallex Smith?

Cavan should be contacting all his dad's old teammates in the offseason. The dude needs to hit the ball harder.

He'd have real nice offensive profile if he was just a bit more of a threat.

Gregory Polanco has been hitting well in AAA lately and he's up to a .957 OPS after tonight. The Bison swing doctors have a pretty good track of history of reversing the fortunes of struggling hitters, with success stories like Rowdy Tellez last season, Gurriel and Teoscar all having found much more success upon return to MLB. I see Polanco has been playing some center field as well which is interesting. I'm guessing he wouldn't be available for post season play if he finds his way back up, but perhaps he could be a nice left handed outfield addition to the roster.

Moreno went 3-3 on September 9 and was pulled before his fourth plate appearance.

He didn't play on September 10.

He took one plate appearance on September 11 and was pulled again. Hasn't played since.

Anybody have any idea what's up with him? I hope he didn't reaggravate his injury somehow.

I’m very high on Biggio turning it around. But I don’t think he can get back into this year’s lineup everyday. This season is just a throw away season for him. He clearly was never healthy this year.

Haven't heard anything. That sucks. Hopefully he gets 25 in the AZ fall league, and maybe the Jays run some sim-games or something after that to catch these guys up a bit? Do they do that?
