Ray Verified Member Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Anybody have any extra info on Yaifer Perfomo? Looks like he's having a dominant season starting in the FCL as a 19 year old (almost 2 years younger than average): 33.0IP, 16.1 K/9, 2.45 ERA (2.52 FIP, 2.99 xFIP).

Stats look incredible. why the f*** is he still in the complex league? send his ass to Dunedin.
RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Julian Merryweather just completed a 6 pitch clean inning with a K... this pleases me. I thought he had a setback. General soreness. Really glad that hes back into games already. Still dreaming on him, Pearson and Romano on the team at the same time.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Martinez struggling mightly as of late Yeah... that's why this thread has not been bumped much and devolved into talk of relief pitching prospects. Martin - traded for a guy who we are 1-4 in his starts Moreno - 1 month hand injury turns into season ending hand injury Martinez - Peaks late June, and hit's .140 or something in A+ Groshans - Kind of marching on like he did all year... solid numbers that are comparable to Bo Bichette's double a year, but not enough eye popping stuff to bump the thread regularly.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 My god, the MLB prospect tracker tool is such a buggy pile of s***. Utterly useless.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 https://milbtracker.com/ Wat. How long has this existed? I scoured Google a few times this season for an alternative tool and couldn't find anything. If I could thank your post multiple times, I totally would.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 My god, the MLB prospect tracker tool is such a buggy pile of s***. Utterly useless. True. The thing relies on cookies, so it just remembers the players you searched for. And then after you put in 40 guys, all your info disappears a couple days later and you have to start over. Probably not the best way to set it up.

Orelvis went 1-4 with a homer today

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Author Posted August 26, 2021 Bring him up to Toronto Ya. That worked well the last time. Dude is as fragile as Merryweather.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Ya. That worked well the last time. Dude is as fragile as Merryweather. Sounds great. anytime a guy gets injured, that just excludes him from ever coming up again. Very simple and easy to manage plan
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Sounds like Pearson wasn't commanding the zone very well in his outing yesterday. That's not very encouraging.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Author Posted August 26, 2021 Sounds great. anytime a guy gets injured, that just excludes him from ever coming up again. Very simple and easy to manage plan No. But when someone is as susceptible to injury as Pearson clearly is, rushing them back is the last thing you do.

What's the effective difference between him pitching out of the pen in AAA and pitching out of the pen at the MLB level?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 What's the effective difference between him pitching out of the pen in AAA and pitching out of the pen at the MLB level? Precisely. If anything (especially for relievers) its more of a reason to get him up here the second he is ready, so he throws the majority of his healthy pitches for the big club before his next injury
keggy Verified Member Posted August 27, 2021 Posted August 27, 2021 What's the effective difference between him pitching out of the pen in AAA and pitching out of the pen at the MLB level? At AAA you have precise control over how many days rest he gets between outings and how many pitches he throws per outing because the games don't matter. You don't have that flexibility when you're trying to win games. This is to say nothing of the fact that he still hasn't proven that he can throw strikes consistently at AAA. Make him earn a spot.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2021 Author Posted August 27, 2021 What's the effective difference between him pitching out of the pen in AAA and pitching out of the pen at the MLB level? Medically, probably not much. Performance wise... He's just starting to build himself back up and it's not like he was dominating but just got hurt. How do you think his confidence will fare if he's getting lit up again in the majors.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted August 27, 2021 Posted August 27, 2021 Van Eyk came out after two innings tonight. No walks, no hits, no runs and 3 K's too, so that can't be good I don't think.
