I agree with you. I would rather promote Manoah after the service clock deadline has passed, honestly.

We should just piggyback Manoah and Pearson. The bullpen could take the day off every 5 days, we'd get lots of wins and it would be must watch TV.

Haha would definitely be entertaining. My preference is a 6 man rotation:

Ryu

Ray

Matz

Stripling/Kay piggyback

Pearson

Manoah

And if the piggyback starts to produce bad results we send Kay down and move Strip to the long man role.

No need to get too cute!!!! Strip and Kay can be ready to cleanup any rookie turds from Pearson and Manoah.

Neither is going to be a 200 ip guy for a while... their is room for them both to get 2-4 inning outings regularly.

200 IP guys are a dying breed altogether.

That's my preference, I'm just trying to also balance any communication the FO and Management has had with Stripling into my suggestion.

Up to me and I do your suggestion and don't give it a 2nd thought.

I agree with you. Manoah and Pearson should be in the SP rotation as soon as the service time clock thing is passed (for Manoah). I keep getting into it with Mike Wilner on Twitter re: this. I say play the kids, Monoah, Austin and Groshans now. Especially if the guys on the roster suck. I would rather the kids suck and earn valuable experience than having a s***** vet who has a low ceiling.

This, 7IP is generally the max a pitcher will go anymore unless they are doing something special. I think if a starting pitcher gives 6innings that would be excellent.

That would be fun. Would it work roster wise? It should. A 200 inning starter and 80 inning reliever cover 280 innings with 2 roster spots, so you'd be splitting the innings evenly between 2 spots instead.

Of course, there'd be complications, like if one of them blows up and its 7-0 do you want to waste the other? Perhaps a more flexible piggy back system, where you aim to get both of them 140 innings, but mix it up a bit depending on situation.

Thornton is also available to piggyback as needed. I like the idea of a 6 man rotation, Ryu has tended to pitch more effectively with extra rest, and it would make it easier to manage Pearson and Manoah's innings as the season progresses. Pearson has only put in a maximum of 100 innings in a season and I believe Manoah has only been up to 125 or so. Neither guy pitched much last year so it's best to watch their workload closely.

Lets say you go piggy back and say Strippling for 4 and Kay for 3 or so...... What if Strippling is dealing do you continue with him or is it a hard out. I can see starting pitchers being very upset with it.

Dunedin's pitching is doing so badly it's kind of impressive. 50 runs against now in 28 innings pitched. Monsion has been the only semi-decent guy they've thrown out there.

Robberse is on that roster but hasn't pitched yet.

edit: 65 runs against in 32 innings now. Over 2 runs per inning. Amazing.

Doesnt seem like Martin has an arm for the left side of the infield apparently. I think he ends up in the outfield.

That's stupid opinion, I can see why he disagrees.

Maybe your thinking is right though, they should consider eliminating the MiLB all together and just throw draftees into the majors.

Zulueta is FUBAR

Going to miss the rest of 2021.

After 3 f***ing pitches.

The good news I guess, is that it wasn't arm related. He f***ed his knee covering 1st base.

Unreal.

Wow, that's unfortunate, how's his luck. Geez...

Zulueta will undergoing season-ending knee surgery after suffering a significant injury during Wednesday's start, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

The 23-year-old was making his professional debut at Low-A Dunedin on Wednesday, and he suffered the knee injury while covering first base during the first inning. It's a tough break for Zulueta, who only recently returned from Tommy John surgery and will now have to look toward retaking the field in 2022.

Brujan is 9 for 21 with 4 home runs. Two homers tonight, one from the right side, the other from the left.

Speed and power beast?
