They would trade anyone if the return was right. I would trade Vlad for the Yanks' 5-6 best prospects (and Gray), for example.

This is uber future watching, but he's a guy that could eventually replace Vlad when Vlad makes the move to 1B or full-time DH.

Goes without saying that anyone is tradeable for the right return, but the chances of other teams giving you that return is what makes certain players untradeable.

I don't think anyone is saying move the young players...but when the writing is on the wall and you have veteran pieces like Donaldson, or Smoak last year where you could've sold high...and the goal is to stock the cupboard, you have to be willing to pull that trigger.

Unfortunately we learned that the hard way. We will still probably have a great trade deadline. Lots of pieces other teams want. And one team usually always overays at the deadline. Lets just hope Estrada has a strong July.

4. Jordan Groshans, SS, Rookie

 

The Jays 2018 1st round pick has huge raw power. He is a big kid with a projectable frame. He doesn’t look 18 and he doesn’t hit like a teenager. His size may move him to 3rd base, where his athleticism plays up. I don’t often pick scouts’ brains on players but when a scout asked me if I had seen him yet and then gushed about him, my ears perk up. Take this with a grain a salt, but this one scout in particular mentioned Jeter several times. From Groshan’s size and his ability to drive the ball to RCF to the way he moves defensively, Groshans is impressive specimen. Quite frankly, I dont think it’s fair to hype any young player with a Jeter comp, but if Groshans is a fraction of Jeter, the Jays got a steal.

Yeah, it's all mixed from many venues. Hard to say, many scouts end up wrong. I also don't believe in UZR, DRS, etc...

Latest Vlad update

 

 

Toronto Blue Jays phenom third base prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. continues to rehab from a strained patellar tendon in his left knee, but he has progressed to the point that he'll be taking live batting practice on Friday. It will be his first time doing so since hitting the disabled list in early June. While this is clearly excellent news, we can't say for sure where Guerrero Jr. stands until he can run without discomfort. Even with batting practice on Friday, he's probably at least a few days away from attempting that. Those in dynasty leagues continue to await Guerrero Jr.'s arrival, who is slashing an absurd .407/.457/.667 with 11 home runs, 18 doubles, and 55 RBI across 53 games for the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats this season.

These days it seems like the scouts are only sure about one or two kids being able to stick at SS in each draft class and everyone else is questionable for one reason or another.
