How in the hell is Moniak above Bichette? Just looking at stats Moniak seems kinda mediocre tbh

I'm not saying he definitely is better, but I would bet the vast majority of scouts still think he is.

It's not about comparing MWL statlines, it's about projecting future major leaguers. Moniak probably still gets better tool grades all things considered. FWIW.

I've never seen Moniak play so I don't have an opinion.

Scouts and evaluators are also pretty forgiving with top prospects, and slow to change their mind about prospects in general.

Bo better f***ing go where the Jays picked him last year, otherwise the Jays wouldn't have him!!! All that matters.

dick move on the step...but you will see some baseballs come flying across the scene. One of the bullpen guys came armed with baseballs. I'd throw the f***er out of baseball.

The step was definitely classless, but the baseballs are on a whole different level. Hopefully they're able to pinpoint who it was and throw the book at him.

Jesus. 23 second mark. Guy in blue backwards hat and blue shirt at top right of the picture does his hardest 100% pull-down throw at a dude 8 feet in front of him and hits him square in the thigh.

What league is this now?

MWL. A few legit prospects in the game, Taylor Trammell, Tyler Stephenson, Tony Cingrani on rehab...Detroit has only one legit prospect and I don't think he's there yet.

Found the thrower's name

After that, all hell broke loose. In the skirmish, West Michigan relief pitcher Eduardo Jimenez hit the field carrying multiple baseballs and fired one at a member of the Dragons.

Geezus. Stepping on the leg like that was clearly on purpose and ridiculous. The ump should have done something about that right then and there. The guy who stepped on the leg was then shoving a coach. He should get a lengthy suspension. The guy who had his leg stepped on should get a short suspension. The guy firing baseballs should get suspended for the rest of the season.

Looks like the fielder steps on the guys fingers on purpose to see if he can get him to pull his hand off the bag. Then stomps his ankle? WTF man. But the best part is the base runners' phantom punch after the initial push. Amazing.

I'm always fascinated at drawings hard lines like that during a fight. Punching, sucker punching, helmet throwing, baseball throwing....where is that line and how on earth do you draw it?

I'd be more inclined to suggest that f***ing ankle stomper be kicked out of baseball forever. That was clearly premeditated. He's as guilty as the guy whipping baseballs IMO.

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm much more ok with a straight up fight like Bryce Harper did the other day than I am with a cowardly act like sucker punching, ankle stomping, or baseball throwing.

The guy who got his ankle stepped on did nothing wrong and was justified in his actions in my opinion. The guy knew he was coming. Had he pulled an Odor then I'd have a problem with it.

But Bryce wasn't a straight up fight, he threw his helmet first.

It didn't seem like Harper actually tried to hit Strickland with his helmet though. I thought he was trying to distract him or something

I don't see why that matters unless you think that he was actually trying to hit the pitcher.

Yeah that was my take too. Like the old dodgeball trick where you lob one in the air and then drill them with another while they're distracted.

Nah, it looks like he realizes about half way through his motion that throwing his helmet will get him in a lot more trouble than a couple of fists would.

Interestingly, the West Michigan player in the video (No. 21) is Toronto native Daniel Pinero. He was on Canada's WBC team this spring and got into the final game versus the U.S.

Meh, IMO he's entitled to chuck his helmet at the pitcher. He just got smoked in his hip with a 98 MPH fastball, that's definitely a more destructive object than a plastic helmet.

The guy chucking baseballs could have killed someone. That makes him the worst offender and that shouldn't be up for debate. No amount of dickish behaviour on the part of the opponents justifies thats. You're going to encouter *******s in life. If you can't deal with them without putting lives in danger, you're a straight up menace to society. Edited by KingKat

Absolutely, a baseball fired at close range with intent, by a pitcher...incredibly dangerous, nothing else that happened in that clip really comes close. Disgusting behavior, none of the other 50 odd players felt the need to grab a weapon.

Hank: What is soonest we could see Vlad Jr. in the majors? He’s so young, but he’s soooo good.

12:47

Eric A Longenhagen: He’s there before he’s allowed to drink.
