Sparky12 Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 No way dickey should get game 4, I was fine with home going 3rd but you gotta use price if it gets to game 4, you don't get a David price to not ride him come playoff time in my opinion.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 If we lose a game with Loup on the mound this city will implode. lol yep. The biggest concern is really the bullpen which will make us sweat buckets during the playoffs. Imagine a comfortable lead in a huge game and then Sanchez/Loup/Osuna unravelling, would be shades of the Leafs/Bruins game 7.

There are signs that maybe Gibby is getting it - Today he was supposed to have said that Cecil will probably be the most overworked guy out of the pen
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Loup better not face one RHB in the postseason. I really think he's just there to face Fielder/Choo/Hamilton if it is still fairly early in the game (i.e. the lefties they won't pinch hit). One can only hope...
art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Surprised to see Estrada start game 3 but if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Dickey has been great but any knuckleballer is more prone to being complete junk than a decent starter. With the offense Estrada has a better chance to avoid disaster which is more important, of course some might still disagree. To me, it's a toss-up. You are right about the knuckler but Globe Life is a band box, especially RF. You have some wind carrying out and now you hold your breath on every supposed to be pop-out; brings back not-so-fond memories of Estrada's start at Yankees stadium

So we should trust their decision. It would absolutely be the wrong decision if the Jays were behind and used Dickey in game 4 though, so let's not assume that would happen.

I find that there are some decisions by the team that we can debate all we want but it's counter-productive for us fans to take it too far. I think this is one of them.. BTW, brilliant quote the other night on the "man and bum and eclair" quote. I went back to watch it and it actually came from the same episode. Never amazes me that just when you think you know the show, you run across somebody with crazier knowledge ...
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 should go with Dickey in game 2 if we win the first game, otherwise go with Stro.

I know Seinfeld really well. I actually have a crazy friend who knows more than me and can regurgitate seemingly every line from the show and in the same tone/voice as the character. It scares me to wonder how many hours of his life (and mine) he's used up watching Seinfeld re-runs haha.

I have all of them on a loop and laugh every night.
Harvey_Specter Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 How about us west coast Jays fans? There are a lot of us, and I'm not too happy with those Thursday and Friday times ... I've been waiting since I was 8 years old for this moment! And now I'll have to watch delayed on a pvr ... At least the odds of hearing the score aren't too high. Not like Canucks where it's impossible.

That's all anyone in Calgary can talk about. I had many early games the last two months spoiled because of people talking about it. Unless you are completely tuned out of technology, you're going to get spoilers from someone.
avatar22 Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I don't think I can make it until tomorrow. I need to be frozen in liquid nitrogen so that I can just wake up and it will be Thursday. I will try to watch the National League WC game tonight. Maybe that will help stave off madness, a little.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Gibbons having more faith in Estrada than Dickey is weird. Maybe he wants to avoid having Martin catch the Dickster if he can. Why Estrada has been so good this year. At the very least of Estrada is bad he will keep us in the game. If Dickey is bad we go down from the start
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Only 1 more day before I get to watch the the first two playoff games IN 22 FREAKING YEARS ON A FKIN STREAM AT WORK . Yes I may be mad.

Yes I may be mad. It is absolute insane... by the way in New England here the game is on MLB Network -- you need super-cable to watch it. Not even on Fox Sports or ESPN Insance, unjustified, unethical... gotta love coorporate America... It shows "the beest" and Rogers are nothing in the larger pecking order Fox (to Rogers and "the Beest") - We will f*** you. It is the way of coorporate America, take it like a man and you can still get shiny objects in your own small domain. Rogers and "the Beest" - yes masters, we are good coorporate citizens. We will obey... always.
puphood Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 How many batters has Loup faced and how many has he hit? That stat should be of concern for everyone....
Brenner Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 So the pitching match ups look like this: Game 1: Price vs Gallardo Game 2: Stroman vs Hamels Game 3: Estrada vs Lewis Game 4: Dickey vs Holland Game 5: Price vs Gallardo Gallardo has been good vs the Jays this year, but Price is Price. Hamels good, but Stroman has been better. Every match up favours the Jays. Back in June it would have been crazy to expect that.

Well, not on the Rangers side, only game 1 and 2 are, plus Perez is in that rotation, we won't be seeing Lewis.

Hamels will be throwing Game 5 on full rest if needed - that's a guarantee.
