Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Should have went out and picked up a lefty if Loup was going to end up on the roster because hes lefty.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 You've got to take your chances with Loup. There's just too many lefties to leave it all to Cecil. Besides, I don't want to burn Cecil in a medium leverage situation, I'd want to save him for "H*ly sh*t God help us!" situations. You know there will be a few of those. Agreed, we need that second lefty. I'm fine with this roster. Like most, I'm really glad to see Pompey wasn't left off.

It was the one big miss for AA at the deadline. But it's pretty hard to complain about his deadline moves. Most GM's don't tick off the amount of boxes he did, with the quality of players that he ticked them off with. I'm sure he looked around, there just wasn't a deal to be made.

Yep I thought Buerhle was going to be OK and the guy but... nope

I'm hoping Loup comes up big. He has the stuff. We need him to get lucky for a change. He has been cursed this season with some bad breaks mixed in with his mistakes.
Nafro Verified Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I like this roster. I think it was pretty much the way you had to go. Estrada can also be used out of the bullpen. Loup's bad luck can't continue...I hope.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 If Loup is used correctly (lefties), then he can be effective. If Gibby falls too in love with Loup, then we got trouble.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Seems a little short handed in the infield. We must be 100% sure on Tulo's health. If someone goes down and we want to pinch hit for Goins or Pennington, what are we gonna do? Let Martin play 2nd again in a playoff game?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 If Loup is used correctly (lefties), then he can be effective. If Gibby falls too in love with Loup, then we got trouble. No, if he falls back in love with Sanchez then we'll be in trouble. Loup is the last guy out of the bullpen.

Well one fan on Wilner Jays talk suggested Martin should play SS when Tulo went down because he did in College and wanted to in the WBC. So we should be bona fide with him @ 2B

Let Martin play 2nd again in a playoff game? well, that's good that they're optimistic about Tulo staying healthy. of course, if an infiender gets hurt, you can always DL him (but he'll have to miss the next series too.)

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Guess they don't put much stock into the dickey effect
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Guess they don't put much stock into the dickey effect they are probably hoping there wont be a game 4
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Loup has been frustrating to watch this year which is why it's easy to forget how strong he is as a loogy. His #'s against lefties are solid this year. Confused with why Dickey isn't going game 3.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Guess they don't put much stock into the dickey effect There's also a game 5 for the Dickey effect.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I personally believe Dickey is pencilled in. If we are up 2-1 he pitches, if we are down 2-1 and Price holds them in check on Game 1, then I fully expect Price to be pitching on short rest in a do or die game and Stroman on regular rest for Game 5. They didn't get Price for a 1 and done post season appearance.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Gibbons having more faith in Estrada than Dickey is weird. Maybe he wants to avoid having Martin catch the Dickster if he can.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Chris Archer sounds very eloquent edit: wrong thread
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 There's also a game 5 for the Dickey effect. No there isn't. Theres a day off in between.

nonamejays Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Is it the same channel for the games on Thursday and Friday, or do we have to switch over to Fox?
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Is it the same channel for the games on Thursday and Friday, or do we have to switch over to Fox? And why are there no start times yet?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 No, if he falls back in love with Sanchez then we'll be in trouble. Loup is the last guy out of the bullpen. You'll see more of Loup than you think.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 If we lose a game with Loup on the mound this city will implode.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Is it the same channel for the games on Thursday and Friday, or do we have to switch over to Fox? Friday is on MLBN... Jays getting seriously dissed
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Surprised to see Estrada start game 3 but if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Dickey has been great but any knuckleballer is more prone to being complete junk than a decent starter. With the offense Estrada has a better chance to avoid disaster which is more important, of course some might still disagree.
