dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 mlb with weekday day games and games with east coast teams playing at 9:45. No wonder they struggle with ratings.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Will see Thursday Sunday anyway Friday i won't be able to leave work
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Fkkk these timings are bruuuutttaaaallll
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 The 12 45 game is all kinds of bulllshit I think we all knew Jays would get shafted with the crappy timeslots.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Are you f***ing KIDDING me?!
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I think we all knew Jays would get shafted with the crappy timeslots. 4 maybe..at least you can run home to watch the second half. I get off work at 3. The Jays must have one of the highest tv ratings in all of baseball, I;m not sure how they can justify this at all
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Beeston should put on his big boy pants and head into manfred's office and kick him square in the nuts. He's retiring anyways.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 So late double header in Baltimore followed by noon start the next day. Now this. MLB suxxxxxx
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I took 2 vacation days on Thursday and Friday #f***IT
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Lmfao a 12:45 game on a Friday? GFY MLB.
blurnandez Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 That is pretty s***** re: 12:45pm Friday game. I almost want to sell me ticket now. Almost...
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 And there goes all day Friday....
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 If no one cares about Jays in the us, just fk it and double up on a later time slot.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I don't get why they feel the need to spread all the games out. The amount of MLB fans that watch more than 2 games that day is so minimal. On top of that most people really only care about either the AL or the NL. They must have research on this that shows spreading it all out gains the most viewership, but on the surface it still seems like if you had game at 4, 2 at 7, and 1 at 10, that would work out fine. f*** off MLB
Praxis Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Not worried. Gibbons can always rest the regulars for the 12:45pm start. Wait....
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 12:45 is going to screw over some people no doubt. For me however, it works great!! I get to take the Go Train now
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Better team matchups get the better timeslots. Nobody in the US cares about the Jays. Not true...I care about the Blue Jays
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 They did the exact same thing to the Os and Tigers last year. First two games were at 12et and 3et. Maybe give each series a night game so one teams fan base does not get royally f***ed all the time. I don't just an idea does not matter to me too much as i can't go to games from brandon
intrigid Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 On a positive note we have an evening game for game 3 which is kind of nice. A lot of people will be eating turkey in front of the TV this year.

It definitely sucks. Same how they made Game 1 for the Raptors the past two season at like 12:30 on Saturday afternoon. Awful time.

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Kind of s*****, good thing I work 3 minutes away from the Dome and my boss is a great guy, also with this start time on Friday maybe less children will be present, all around good news.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 This schedule is f***ed. I hope the Blue Jays are bitching. Both games should start at 8. Haven't f***ing idiots heard of watching 2 channels at once? I can watch 8 at once if I wanted too. The only people this effects is the fan base. Going to be a f***ing zoo in Toronto. And everyone is going to be drunk on weekday mornings. I guess thats nothing new to Spanky.
Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Haha - Have any Toronto fans watched the MLB postseason the past decade? This has been going on for a long time. They avoid game overlaps like the plague. Anyone expecting any differently for a Canadian team hasn't been paying attention. How many ESPN Sundays has Toronto got in the past five years? The US viewership just isn't there. (And yes, I agree that a two games at once model would work and also be better)
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I love it! This lets me watch every game. Playing postseason games in the afternoon in their own slots is a great baseball tradition. I bet some people do love it and it works out well for them. Do you work nights? I just think for the amount of people that can watch every game like this, there are more that miss the early game(s) due to work. Even if 2 are at the same time its easy to flip back and fourth during commercials and pitching changes
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Do mlb.tv subscribers get the playoffs for free on mlb.tv? A friend of mine will be in cottage country and has to use it this weekend. Odd I've never even thought about this since all the games are on regular tv every year. Edit: I checked the site and was mildly confused so figured it was easier to ask here.
