Is anyone heading to Texas and not have tickets yet? I happen to be there on a work conference so was just going to grab a single, but would prefer to sit by Jays fans. PM me and we can figure out how to arrange it, but I'm happy to buy them in advance and wait for cash until in person at the gate.

MLB staggers the playoff start times in the first round. There are only two games on Thursday so they're probably 4 and 8 or something like that. Four games go on Friday so we'll probably see a game start at 12 or 1, like in Baltimore last year.

The games Thursday are at 4 and 8...just look at the tv broadcast for thursday. Only thing is no one knows who plays which game.

Price should be starting games 1 & 4 on short rest (That's why we're renting him), Stroman 2 & 5 on regular rest and Dickey Game 3. Estrada is the long arm and I assume used in the rotation for ALCS.

If we're facing elimination, I think Price goes in game 4 and Stro in game 5, otherwise, I think they'll use Estrada in game 4 and Price, if needed, for game 5.

I like that idea, it's a good option.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Game 2 starter could start Game 5 on regular rest, whereas the Game 1 starter could start either Game 4 on short rest, or Game 5 with an extra day of rest.

You're right, didn't realize that. So damn I guess we do see Hamels twice.

I was planning to use this strategy as well but then I saw SP on short rest put up awful numbers compared to regular rest. Estrada in that TEX ballpark with that RF really scares me though.

Throughout the season, it seems people were constantly scared of Estrada pitching vs Team A or in X ballpark, yet he never unravels the way everybody seems to expect him too.

I kinda want them to go with Price on short rest even if it's 2-1 jays.

So pumped for this series! I'm flying down to Dallas on Friday night and and am catching Game 3s and then 4 if it happens. Is anyone else going?

Nice! #diehard

Well I live in Denver so it's easier for me to get to Dallas than it is Toronto. :)

Did you move there for the *medicine*?

On ExpressVu listings, it says Texas at Toronto 5:30 on 8th. The other game starts at 9:00.

On Friday, our game is at 3:30.

*Disclaimer: this is just what it says on my tv. Who knows if it's finalized or not.

No for work and I'm not a huge fan of the medicine but every once in a while it's nice to be able to walk to the store and pick some up.

Your best bet is to get tickets near the Blue Jays dugout. That's usually where visiting fans sit. I'm going with my dad and that's where we are going to try and sit.

if you at their schedule it 8pm for the first game.

My belief is that if NYY doesnt win the WC, we get primetime slot.

I don't know, Houston/KC is still more compelling to a US broadcaster than Toronto/Anybody not named Red Sox or Yankees. Maybe it's not listed yet, but I think we'll be in the suboptimal time slot.

Also, I'm not a tinfoil hat guy, but FOX really does hate Canada.

All about time zone , the eastern time zone gets the early games. To me Houston/KC is as compelling as a trip to the dentist, but i don't run a network

I'm heading down with 3 others as well and am trying to see where all other jays' fans will be sitting as well.

I don't think anyone gives a s*** about Houston or KC. I'm sure they don't care about Toronto either, but we have a more start studded lineup so I think they'd market the players rather than the teams in that case.

I don't think it works that way with baseball in the US. We can have an All-Star lineup, but it's not like the NFL in terms of national interest. They get major bumps from the local markets involved (of which Toronto offers them 0 bump being in Canada) and then they get a certain percentage of die hards that will watch any baseball, finally they get the out-of-market fans who will watch the heritage teams like Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers. Marketing individual players on teams with little national cachet like the Jays just doesn't fly.

career numbers against a team are silly in this day when players change teams all the time, look at most recent stats
