intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I really can't believe the umpiring in this game. If you're going to give someone a bit of a liberal zone, this was the game for it. There were at least 3 balls that could have been called strikes and nobody would have argued. Contrarian ******* ump picks a near-meaningless sentimental game to buckle down on the rules.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 let buerhle pitch in the playoffs if there is a blowout. It can't end like this. I sure hope they don't, they just wanted to give him 200ip for the season.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 The game would take like 5 hrs then if you ya don't wanna watch, no one is keeping you here. I'd stay for the entire night for a jays come back.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Terrible timing for the worst game of the year.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 This is what happens when you think with the heart and not the head. I can't believe a professional sports organization put personal stats of a players ahead of a tangible advantage in the playoffs. If not for s***** defence, he would have been out of that inning long before it was 7-0.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Shut the f*** up already with this narrative. It's the truth, I said I hope the two games off helps us in the playoffs. What's wrong with that. Gibby even said that
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Contrarian ******* ump picks a near-meaningless sentimental game to buckle down on the rules. Yeah, pretty much.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Couldn't possibly have gone any worse. What a way to go into the playoffs. It's the meaningless last game of the regular season. It has no bearing.
art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 When Gibby decided to start Papa, you knew he prioritized showing respect to Papa than anything else. It's clear that was his #1 priority. Getting the best record was never a priority despite what he or AA may say. By the simple action of going with Hutch if Papa couldn't go says it all. He probably couldn't envision things going this badly but there's no way that he can convince me that he's trying to win this game based on his decisions...

When you're trying to prove to free agents that the organization cares about the players, you do those things.
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Hopefully EE doesn't let that error affect him. We all know how much his defense affected his hitting before.. Not necessarily tying it in to the error he made, but one thing I don't get is why he is playing 1B today over Cola when there's bigger chance that he may get injured playing the field.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Remember when this team was still playing for a playoff position then? Yeah, me too! I don't blame him for that... If he HADN'T done that I think I would be more upset. Common guys, we can point to many things but even Burly was his worst enemy this season with injuries.. 2-2 game in the 6th against the worst team in baseball. There was no need to take Buehrle out of that game. I said so at the time as well.
blurnandez Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 What a pathetic way to end the season. I doubt it will affect how they do in the postseason, but it still doesn't feel good.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Wtf is yo It's the truth, I said I hope the two games off helps us in the playoffs. What's wrong with that. Gibby even said that People keep bitching about it when it has been explained like twenty times in here.
ComeTogether Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 1st inning fail Batters stranded 2 on Fielders made 2 errors. Wasn't meant to be for MB. Jays not winning clinching AL. Better just get back to playing good baseball, get ready for game 1.
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Rays clearly put it all their budget for 2016 to pay off this ump. Ump was fine, MB pitched like s***. None of the balls u guys are whining about were in the zone according to pitch tracker.

MorrisSmit Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Jesus some of you need to relax.. the team nor the fans are going to remember this game on Thursday
Buster Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Maybe the Jays should reconsider their whole "make the playoffs, and party like its 1999" attitude. Playing to win counts in terms of keeping sharp.

Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 The strike zone argument would be valid, if only this fkin ump didn't call a strike on EE on an inside pitch. Stay consistent or GTFO Alfonso Marquez.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 It's the meaningless last game of the regular season. It has no bearing. Wasn't meaningless at all.
baubau Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Chris Colabello? Moar like Chris LOLbello. Amirite?!
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Were you even watching the game? We're u? None of those were strikes bud.
over500 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Might as well pull the regulars now.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Well at least we are in the playoffs. Wooooooooooohoooooooooooo! !!!
JosJos Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I blame this on Gibbons yet again, why the f*** would you not start Smoak at least for 2 innings for defensive purpose? when you know Buehrle will not get his best game on short rest. f***ing idiot manager.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 We lost 4 of the last 5 games of the season, 3 of them without care because they were apparently meaningless. I personally would have preferred winning 4 of the last 5 going riding momentum in to the post season. Oh well, we're new to this.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Wasn't meaningless at all. The only way it would be more meaningless is if it were the last game of spring training.
