Governator Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 So if Texas loses and Houston wins they have to play an extra game and the Jays get the winner...lets hope for that and it's the same as playing a wild card, right? Damn I didn't realise that with all the chaos scenarios in the AL. Good to know.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Whatever were in the playoffs. f*** Tampa. Toronto is going to be electric.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I don't think I was ever this salty going into the 89, 91,92 or 93 post season. But then again I didn't have pubes then. It's a s***** way to end the regular season and MB's career. Just keep telling myself that it wasn't too long ago I was thrilled at the prospect of a wildcard, then the division became a possibility and we won that. Would have been nice to win the AL, but when I look at what was accomplished in 2 months, I'm beyond happy.
Baseball Player Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Happier thoughts.. So I couldn't get any playoffs tickets but I did get a hotel room for Fridays game facing the field at the Renaissance Hotel. The best part? I can bring my own booze!
Drumcliff Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Let's face it. Gibbons made it abundantly clear he didn't care about having the best record and home-field advantage when, in the final game of the Baltimore series, he allowed Thole, Kawasaki and Barney to hit in the eight inning when the tying run was at the plate. It's his call, I suppose, but it leaves a sour taste in my mouth, as does today's farce.

Yes, then all the people crying about not facing the Wild Card team would get their wish.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 you just know Gibbons is gonna do something stupid in the post season that will cost us.. the guy is incapable of making good decisions.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 jays have stranded 4 through 2. one good rally and they can be back in this one. LETS GO JAYS
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Whatever were in the playoffs. f*** of Tampa. Toronto is going to be electric. Yeah, pretty much this. Really wanted this for Buehrle, and winning the AL would have been nice, but we're going to the playoffs so I need to just get over what happened today.
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Would have been embarrassing for Gibby to do that, IMO. Buehrle already knows this whole thing is for him. No need to draw more attention to it by bickering with the ump. No one is going to question the ump, Buehrle had his chance and couldn't finish. Would anyone really want to end their career saying I could of had 200IP but the Umpire screwed me? I'd have argued it just from the perspective of the inconsistent balls/strikes, that whole check swing thing, etc., not necessarily to reason with the ump to call those two innings in charity for Buehrle (though I understand it may come off that way anyway)... and also to just fire the team up. It seemed like Martin, the whole bench, etc. were very upset with the calls, the ump had a few arguments with Martin and the Bench that inning.
art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 the rays broadcast guys are all over the ump "i'm sorry that's a strike... well that's not my zone... u don't have a zone... it's a strike..."

Martin was arguing for pitches that were balls early and Marquez wasn't happy with him. Probably why they ended up getting into it on the check swing.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Eddy get #40 and this day won't be a complete wash.

Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Poor kid had a bit of trouble figuring out how to pronounce Encarnacion. lol
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 For anyone interested, all MLB.tv games are free right. If you're interested in any other of the games you can follow any or all of them. I'm watching the Rangers-Angels myself.

art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Just curious, did they have anything to say when Buehrle was pitching? not much while he was pitching but did say in the inning that Moore was pitching that Buehrle is getting squeezed too. he also talked about how the defense was letting him down as well the color guy is funny though with his comments about the ump - "if i put the ball in the zone, call it" "matt moore should feel about his start so far; he is pitching to half a strike zone"
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Rangers playing with no urgency whatsoever after a heartbreaking loss. What do they think this is, Game 7 of the 2011 World Series?
art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 nice hustle pillar ... especially in a 9-0 game!!
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Man, it really pissed me off on how it's always so hard for us to win a series at this goddamn place (yes, I realize we won one series here in June, but even for that we had to work real hard for it). This wouldn't have pissed me off as much if we'd have just won that game yesterday, now it really bugs me that we're gonna lose this series, lol.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 So weird Edwin is playing first base again. Probably will be removed early. If he was a DH he could have had 2 more cracks.
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Nice play by Edwin. Still don't get why he's out there to risk injury playing the field.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Playing our scrubs seems to have rejuvenated the O's.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Rangers playing with no urgency whatsoever after a heartbreaking loss. What do they think this is, Game 7 of the 2011 World Series? Well Freese is playing so...
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Any chance Go Train is going operate for Jays post season games that are during the week?
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Any chance Go Train is going operate for Jays post season games that are during the week? What do you mean? People still need to travel to and from work... It'll run on its normal schedule.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Nice play by Edwin. Still don't get why he's out there to risk injury playing the field. I know why. Gibbons is a dumbass.
Baseball Player Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Any chance Go Train is going operate for Jays post season games that are during the week? I had to take a train from Union to Milton one day on a Saturday and I asked the ticket booth guy why it was only buses and no trains today? He told me if I could get 1000 people he would get me a train. So maybe? haha
Baseball Player Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 What do you mean? People still need to travel to and from work... It'll run on its normal schedule. Only the Lakeshore line runs both ways all day I believe. I know the milton line only runs weekdays and -> Toronto from like 6-10am and -> Milton from like 4-7pm. It doesnt run both ways at the same time.
