Gemione Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I purchased my 100 level playoff tickets for the 2015 season and I must say im very disappointed. Surprisingly, not at the price. Although expensive, I find it hard to monetize this potential momentous occasion. My grief lies in the tickets themselves. All playoff tickets are digital. This is extremely disappointing to me because I was looking forward to framing or displaying the tickets in some way. My only option is to log into the account Manager and printing off an 8.5x11 sheet of paper. Is anyone else feel my anguish? *knock on wood* if we go all the way to game seven of the WS, im going to need a stupid binder and 3 hole punch. Very disappointed. hopefully Rogers/Bluejays catches some flak for this and ponies up the few thousand dollars it will cost to deliver tickets in a manner appropriate to the occasion. Am I alone on this?

Am I alone on this? Mostly every ticket is electronic these days when you purchase online. Be thankful that you have tickets to the postseason and stop whining about that they are electronic copies and not hard copies.
Gemione Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Aside from haters that dont have tickets or live in PEI. Is this not a legitimate let down? SF and KC managed to produce real tickets for 2014.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I think you can ask them to print you a souvenir stub.

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 He has a point. If you wait 40 years, you might get 10x your money back in an eBay auction! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1975-World-Series-Ticket-/400989006061?hash=item5d5ccea8ed
Gemione Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 I know about the paper copies. And for all the RS games i went to I used them or my Digital Card. This isnt the same. This is just Scraping pennies of the bottom line. (I guess Nickels now). And Personally it feels bush league to me. If your comments are shrouded in "No post season tickets" hate, to you I say, Make sure you PVR the games so you can see me over and over. If you actually think that having those printed paper tickets with half the page as an advertisement is appropriate for 1. The price point and 2. The importance of the event. Than I think its safe to say that tradition and nostalgia may be lost on the new generations of baseball fans.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 This is why you were offered an opportunity to pre-purchase a program (frame it and stop whining). No one does real tickets anymore.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Welcome to the 21st Century... I have not used a real ticket in a long f***ing time because it is so much easier. Of all things to complain about this should be at the bottom of the list right by having to pluck my unibrow every 2-3 weeks.... Pain in the ass.
Gemione Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 There were only 3 teams that used digital tickets last season. Just because its happening, doesnt mean it should. Its not like the costs savings are transitioned to the consumer.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 The OP should lose his postseason tickets for this complaining... http://cdn.meme.am/instances/59284911.jpg
Gemione Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 jaysblue you mad or sad? I cant tell. Maybe ill donate a pair of my tickets to Jays care in your name. Because I can. I can also complain because I bought them. That's the whole point. I am paying for seats, and the experience. Part of that experience is walking away with the Stubs to the biggest professional sporting event in Canada in over two decades.

I just find it hysterical that you created an account on this message board in order to start a new thread whining about how your Blue Jays postseason tickets are electronic tickets.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 lol the digital tickets have nothing to do with the price of the actual hard copy ticket. Its the man hours of having to track all the tickets and then they got lost in the mail and they have to re-mail them etc.. I think having a program is worth much more than the ticket stub.
AdamLindsMom Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 How do you get your tickets in PDF from your "MyBlueJays Ticket Management"? If you choose transfer does it email them as PDF? Or do you go to print at home and then print to PDF?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I agree with you dude. Physical tickets are nice. I have a huge collection of concert tickets and lately I haven't been able to get physical tix... Doesn't look nice.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I'm going to support you here Gemione, partially because I do understand you point from a nostalgic/collectible standpoint, but mostly to be contrarian given the haters that are pissing on you for it. Please post more in the future, new posters are always welcome.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I didn't get any tickets, but I am mightily PISSED that I will potentially have to watch playoff games in high definition on a 55" screen rather than the 13 inch TV with whacked contrast settings . Just kidding, I see your point and it'd be nice to have but it's not something that would take away from my experience if I was going to a game.

Am I alone on this? JaysCare could probably make a decent amount of $$ at the games by handing out commemorative "stubs" in exchange for donations of any size. This solution is a winner from all angles. 1) it removes any cost on the part of the team 2) it makes money for the Blue Jays charity 3) people who want the stubs have an opportunity to get them in a reasonable way

I have a huge collection of concert tickets and lately I haven't been able to get physical tix... Doesn't look nice. They give you a card that acts as your ticket for all of the games; that's the collectible. Even better the card lets you use a digital wallet, has your discounts loaded on it and whatever else you'd need or want. It's a better fan experience than a paper-based system and a HUGE financial commitment from the Blue Jays. I for one welcome the digitization and hope they continue to expand it.

The cost would be negligible, especially given the proportion of fans that would really want one.
