Thanks If you are buying today you must buy every series separately. The entire postseason strips are no longer available. If you are purchasing on the day with the general public you can only buy indv. games
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Seats on stubhub for tonight going for as little as 13 USD. Cheapest ticket a week ago for tonight was like 35 bucks. It appears waiting it out and being patient might actually be an effective strategy!

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Tickets for game 1 already as low as 108 USD on stubhub now. As I've said (at least 10 times in this thread), you will be able to get into these games for around 100 bucks if you aren't retarded.

Not sure why you have such a raging ticket boner here but like others are saying regular season will not compare to the playoffs. You could watch a regular season with the Jays taking the field for the past 22 years, playoffs..... not so much bruh.

Yeah the price will still go down a bit, but that price is still $140 CAD and those seats are row 27 in the 500's. High five the people in the CN tower Edge Walk for me while you're up there. No doubt if you look hard enough you'll be able to find some decent deal to get you in though

He's being quite sensible and you're being argumentative with him for no good reason. The guy knows how market economics work. If I were you, I'd just wait and see how this plays out before arguing any further.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 now is probably the time to buy playoff tickets. I remember last year reading how KC's ticket prices rose by something like 400% through the postseason because of the success.

Sat down in my friends section whose an usher and he was working the Club 200 which was sweet!

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Plan: 1. Try to get tickets from box office on 24th 2. Look for resell tickets on here at reasonable markup 3. Pay Stubhub prices if I must
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I may be wrong...but this week and next...already are the playoffs from a certain perspective

Don't count your chickens yet buddy, those low prices are only from a few people. If I were you I'd buy those seats now. But let me guess, you don't want to sit last row nosebleeds? As soon as the single game tickets sell out in a matter minutes you and almost everyone else will be left holding your collective sacks, with no tickets. Those few cheap seats on stubhub will be snatched up and the price will go sky high again. I will say it once again: good luck. You are certainly going to need it.

ECJF keeps trying to bait people by bragging about how cheap hes going to get his seats for and how stupid everyone else is. Maybe he should wait until he actually manages to get seats for under 100 CDN before he starts tooting his own horn. He's coming off as a prick.

Maybe you and ECJF can meet up and celebrate your victory

I don't think he's saying that prices on stubhub are going to drop drastically. They aren't. But he's saying he'll find a way to get them for less than 150 or whatever per seat, which he likely will. It's rare to see a case in the secondary market where you don't save money by waiting until the very last minute if you have that luxury, but most people simply don't wait. Really it's a matter of monitoring the supply and timing your purchase for high demand events. For the World Series it's too early to really predict what the price "should" be for tickets should the Jays get there which is why they are typically set so high. Premium dugout seats are sky high right now. If the Mets or Cubs make it then you have two teams coming from cities with high income earners, so the demand will expand. People from NY or Chicago will fly in to see their team (also because both teams have sucked for so long). You're right that a bunch of tickets will be snatched up after the 24th. Happens every year with the home opener. Toronto is a great market and there's a lot of people with a lot of money who want to go to games. So you'll see tickets sell at a good clip above face. At the end of the day there's a market equilibrium with tickets just like everything else and eventually the market will settle on what that is. There are people who will have paid well below (like eastcoast) and others who paid well above.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Sorry for all the rustled jimmies guys. Anyways, even I'm surprised how much prices have fallen. Scalpers just overestimated the demand. I should not be able to buy a lower bowl ticket against the Yankees in the middle of a pennant race for 32$ (as I did earlier today). Seems like massive interest in this team but it's not being reflected in prices. Very odd.

If the Jays played the Yankees on the weekend the prices would be skyhigh. It'd be interesting to hear how many Jays fans come from outside Toronto for weekend games but I'd guess there are at least 10-15k fans coming in from across Ontario for the weekend games. I was talking to my folks neighbour and he took a Viarail from Ottawa down to last Saturday's game and said almost 80% of the entire train ride were Jays fans going to the game.

Seems like massive interest in this team but it's not being reflected in prices. Very odd. But the interest is being reflected in the prices. I'll say it again: I sold 4 lower bowl tickets that cost me $194 as a flex pack holder for over $600 for Sunday's Red Sox game through stubhub. My take on it after paying stubhub was $579. Not trying to gloat anymore than you are with your $32 statement, I am just presenting you the other side of it: they are selling for a shitload and its regular season. You might luck into an occasional desperate seller for $32 but most are paying a massive premium to watch the games live right now. But do we really need to keep going on about this? You haven't accomplished your under $100 playoff goal yet so you are bringing no evidence to the debate. Yet you keep on yapping about it. Get back to me when you get sub $100 tickets from a scalper.

Yes, clearly people are scooping up tickets at these outrageous prices. Scalpers are just lowering their prices because they're in a good mood today. You got lucky and preyed on some greenhorn who didn't know any better. Congrats. Huge life accomplishment. I'm only continuing this conversation because there are probably a lot of people who read this board that are interested in buying tickets who don't have that great of a gauge of the ticket market. Waiting will pay off for them. There is no need for you to have a panic attack every time I post.
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I'm not panicking any more than you are. You say you are trying to help people gauge the market? Well I don't think you are gauging it accurately and the end result could be that some of those you think you are helping might end up paying even more in the end. Waiting might not be in their best interest. I'd buy now. $108 is a deal and it won't get better after the 24th.
