reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Should I sell now or later? Depends what tickets you have. If you got good tickets I'd suggest selling them. If you got crappy 500 level probably wait.

If you got crappy 500 level probably wait. The crappy 500s are listing for $200+ for the ALDS. At like $60 face value, do you think they'll still go up?
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I'm not panicking any more than you are. You say you are trying to help people gauge the market? Well I don't think you are gauging it accurately and the end result could be that some of those you think you are helping might end up paying even more in the end. Waiting might not be in their best interest. I'd buy now. $108 is a deal and it won't get better after the 24th. I'm sorry....
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Now seems like a pretty good time. The cheapest tickets on stubhub are approaching 400% markup on face value... Blue Jays playoff tickets are kind of uncharted territory, but that seems like a peak price and a great way to make some $$$. I think with cheap tickets you could continue to wait. People will pay a ton just to get in the building the day before, I think the hype has exceeded expectations by a lot and will continue.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Holy crap I paid $266 for two 100 level seats down the 3rd base line and on stub hub they are selling for $350 dollars each. Sell 'em and buy your kid a pony

It's hard to say because we don't have a good comparable do we? Would they really go down? Haven't the sold out games just increased as the game time gets closer (up to a point of course)?
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 113 A and 130 A. Depending on the row, they've been selling for $300 - $450 each per seat (USD) after stubhub fees today. So that would pocket you 225-375 USD. That's 300-500ish Canadian and you paid $125 each. So if you're happy with that profit then do it. Personally I wouldn't list yours for less than $300 a ticket (before SH fees, so $270 paid to you). I bet if you put it up at that price you would sell them quickly. Right now there's a surge in sales from people who really want to secure tickets and couldn't get any through ticketmaster. It's not a bad time to sell some, but there's always the chance prices will go up in the future.

Haven't the sold out games just increased as the game time gets closer (up to a point of course). Surprisingly, no. Some of the earlier sell outs did increase to stupid amounts as the game approached, but for this Yankees series a lot of the tickets in the 500 level were listing for very reasonable prices even the day before the games. Who knows what will happen.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 You can get wild card tickets still. There seems to be a decent amount left in the 500 level and the alcohol free section.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I got a single in section 113A Row 26 for Game 1, two tickets for Game 2 in section 516 row 26 (though seats are scattered) and managed to get 1 ticket in 522 Row 16 like around 11:15 AM for Game 3. I actually found that purchasing the tickets on your phone worked better than on the actual computer. I still have two browsers open searching for Game 1 and Game 3 though they've been open since like 10 AM and still searching haha (doubt anything comes from it).
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Mid teens in row. The chance of prices going up worries me to sell now. Then do it, just don't look back if they sell. You'll make a bunch of cash on them so don't sweat it if they go up a bit. Based on the sales that have just happened in past 30 minutes, I'm fairly confident that if you list them right now at $300-350 each (again, before stubhub fees so actual price paid by buyer is about 18% higher) you will sell them today.
37stieb Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I see a s*** load of tickets on kijiji, if anyone is wondering

There seems to be a decent amount left in the 500 level and the alcohol free section. Yeah there were a whole bunch, though they closed the "buy on map" feature since the high traffic volume. I managed to get Section 234 Row 1, nothing to lose. Hope they don't have to play a wildcard game though haha!
SoftHands Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I'd say 500s go for at least 250 U.S. when it's all said and done. People will pay a premium to get into the building for the first playoff game in 20+ years. Add in stubhub fees it could get close to 400 U.S. for game 1 at least.
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Great sets of 2 in alcohol free 237
SoftHands Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Great sets of 2 in alcohol free 237 That's the dealbreaker
SoftHands Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Why would you say that? They're going for ~$130 right now. I don't know why they would increase three-fold from that. There is no demand at all for 500s at $400 imo. If you're that into baseball and are that rich, you'd already have a flex pack or season's tickets and would already have nice seats in the lower bowl for the postseason. Cheapest 500 for game 1 is $172 right now, trust me there's going to be desperate people last min to get into the park
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 That's the dealbreaker Not everyone is a drinker tho
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 That's the dealbreaker I don't know about you, but I'd rather pre and post drink somewhere else than buy beer at the dome.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 That's the dealbreaker Ah not the end of the world. Their were some great pairs available like in Row 3 & 4 from when I checked. I'd rather sit there instead of like Row 30 something and be dry the entire game. Unless you plan on drinking 4-5 beers at the game, and even if you do I'm sure the lineups for beer in the 500 level will be crazy, so you'd be missing a lot of the game from lining up at the beer stands and I'm sure for the washrooms as well unless you have an amazing bladder. Worse case scenario if you want one beer, just down it in the concourse lol. I usually do my drinking pre and post game since buying beer at the dome is crazy expensive.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 That's the dealbreaker Shockingly not everyone has to drink (to escape the reality of their s***** life) to enjoy a baseball game
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 When do tickets for the ALCS and World Series go on sale to the general public?
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 If there happens to be a game 5 of the ALDS (I hope not), I might look to meet up with one (or more) of you schmucks if you're going alone.
2lowitzki Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I tried to buy 2 tickets for game 2 around 10am, SOLD OUT I tried to buy single ticket just for me for game 3 around 10:30 SOLD OUT I was basically crying when it was all sold out I'm probably try again on October 7th, when they sell ALCS ticket.

TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Everything is playing out according to what I figured so far. Glad to see that some of you got tickets.

I never got anything for two tickets/pairs when searching this morning at 10 AM. Singles were available, and I think thats the best bet if you hope in getting tickets for the ALCS or World Series. Don't bother searching for two seats at the beginning, because you'll be waiting all that time and afterwards they say nothing is available. I managed to get a single for Game 3 at like 11:15 AM (lucked out I guess). I was just refreshing my search every minute and then all of a sudden something popped up.
