eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 And I'm talking the reasonable secondary market. Not the Russian gangsters trying to sell row 30 upper bowls for 5K a piece.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Wonder what the upper bowl market will look like. At the Raptors peak a few years back against Brooklyn.. upper bowls maxed out around 150$ in the secondary market. Tough call. Jays are more popular but there is so much more supply. I expect to pay like 120-130. My guess it peaks around 200-225 on Stubhub maybe higher. Jays fan base is 5x the size of the Raps and playoff drought is 22 years. Jays dome is obviously larger but demand will be wayyy more as well.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I know this topic has been discussed to death, but those of us with our presale tomorrow. Do we just log in at 9:45 and see the ticket option and click it at 10? Or does a new link appear at 10 o'clock. Hoping I have luck. Only going for 500 level, so I'm hopeful. Thanks Doesn't matter what time you click the button to get the tickets. There is no actual queue, you just have to keep clicking it until you get in. Don't bother waiting with the loading page for more than 5 minutes. Keep a few tabs open with load screens, but also have one tab where you refresh every minute. Good luck

Nobody is going to pay those prices for the upper parts of the 500 level.

People won't realize the exchange rate when they buy the tickets. There is a psychological difference to seeing a smaller price in USD. Those prices will be the peak anyways. By the time the game rolls around you can probably get a ticket for 150 USD.

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I just got the email about terms and conditions of the playoff tickets. Found this interesting: Toronto Blue Jays Full Season Ticket Holders and Flex Pack Purchasers will have the amount paid by them hereunder on account of Tickets for unplayed Postseason Home Game Tickets credited towards their 2016 season tickets or flex pack purchase, as applicable. Any full season ticket holder or flex pack purchaser that requires a refund must contact his/her account representative before 5:00 p.m. on November 13, 2015. All monies will be refunded to the person or entity named on the Ticket Account via the same pay method, So even if the Jays go out in say the wild card game they 're still going to go ahead and charge me $6,000 and I have to contact my account rep (i've never been advised who that is!!!) by November 13 or they keep my $6,000 that can only be used as credit towards future tickets. I'm sure they'll have tons of capacity to be taking thousands and thousands of requests in such a short time period. You're making it seem so complicated, if they don't play all the games you have until NOVEMBER 13th to grab your money back, first world problems dude.

You will if you have to. Won't you? If thats the cost then thats the cost. Most of us have been waiting our entire lives for this and would gladly fork out $250 for a ticket. I know I would. Thankfully, I won't have to since I have tickets at face value. But if I couldn't get them, I would have gladly paid $250 to go to a game. f***, thousands of Leafs fans pay that every regular season game to see a dogshit team.

I expect to pay like 120-130. That's a pretty reasonable amount for tickets, I can't imagine paying 300 CAD for upper bowl either. What's that like 5-10x face value? At some point it's more desirable to just find a bar near Yonge St and watch it with your closest friends, with a decent meal you can eat on an actual table, with easy and quick access to beer, an easily accessible toilet, and instant replay on the TV. Plus, I discovered last weekend that sitting in those little seats at the Dome during a sell-out as a 200lb adult isn't as easy as when you're 11 years old kid. The price is driven up because it seems like a once-in-a-lifetime event. The Jays should have a solid playoff-capable roster next year and things look OK for the future as well with Shapiro at the helm. About 6 or 7 years ago, I bought a playoff ticket for literally half its face value to a Detroit Redwings vs. Dallas Stars conference game at Joe Louis Arena. Pretty much everyone in Detroit was used to making the playoffs every year and it wasn't that big a deal any more. Not saying that will happen here as well, but there is definitely a euphoria that won't last if the Jays remain competitive. The tickets may indeed go for $300 anyway, and that's fine of course if that's what people are willing to pay. I wouldn't be too surprised really.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I am going to say 500 level section behind home plate for the WS will go for $250 a ticket. I sold my Yankee tickets face value of $30 for the up coming series for $100, made a $400 profit on all of those games in the series.

Those are $200 face value for anyone who bought a strip of playoff tickets, they will be going for over $250 a ticket. http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/tor/ticketing/postseason_seating_map_and_prices.jsp
Stive Verified Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 The presale today was really smooth. Anyone else try it? I searched probably 6 or 7 times for tickets and had them by 10:06. Go 523R row 15. Woulda liked closer, but I'm guessing season ticket holders snagged a lot of them. Didn't see any row above 13 in the 500 section. Anyone have opinion on how I did? For 3 grand I'm looking for a bit of a reassurance. Haha!

I think for the WS you will be looking at 500 a ticket just to get in the door...worst seat in the house. Face values are crazy high to begin with, so 500 a ticket isn't even that insane...face value is $200 for 500 level for WS, so that would only be 2.5 times face.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 500 level around the infield is actually a decent viewing experience. IMO it's better than the back rows of 100 and 200 level OF, and also better then 100 level IF way out in the corner, which just sucks. 500 IF is the place to be in the playoffs, unless you have a lot of money.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I got Section 119 Row 31... I think these should be good... not sure if lower row around 129 would be better but the whole lower infield is the same price so figured closest to home plate is best? Lol s*** dude... You got way better seats than ALOT of posters here who bought their flex packs in 2014.

Stive Verified Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I do find a bit unfair for all of you flex pack holders (who still bought when the jays were being slammed in March for their pitching) don't just get too see a chart and select the exact two seats you want. The rest will sell regardless and shouldn't be an issue. A real drop of the ball by rogers and the jays who should be commending fans (even in that minimal way) for their support when things weren't as bright. What about the 523R row 15. Good given it is the 4th presale? Obviously close to home plate, but again.. Just looking for reassurance.

I think some peopls from 2 weeks ago got like 20th row in that section. For reference, I got my flex pack last year (in November) and had the first window to buy playoff tix after season ticket holders. I was hoping for around section 137 but got section 141 row 6. Not great, not bad.
Stive Verified Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 For those of you who are unhappy... Why not call and bitch about the brutal way in which tickets were distributed. This is rogers we are talking about! I call AT LEAST once a year to get my bills lowered and never have a problem. The odd time it may take me until agent number two to get anything credited etc, but always come out of it happy. I know it was noted someone else had done this successfully and then unsuccessfully as well, but can't hurt to try... Maybe get a ticket agent in a good mood. I'd threaten not to do flex packs again. Stop organizing group tickets... Hell, I'd even threaten to switch to bell for my mobile, tv etc. Worth a shot IMO

Its embarrassing that there wasn't a seating map to chose from instead it gives you 2 choices of seats. What is needed is a virtual seating map that lets you click the seat and see the actual view from each seat in the stadium. For the blue jays not to have this in the year 2015 is a testament to how far they are behind in technology.
Stive Verified Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 It's not even a case of them being too far behind. It's run through ticketmaster, who offer this (as I'm sure you know) for the regular season games. It's simply due to a lack of giving a s*** and simply looking to capitalize on this run. Comes down to just a lack of effort on the jays part to make the presales fair and beneficial for those people who support the team the most. What's most ironic is that the team, building and tv network are all owned by a GIANT communications giant, who, with any luck, will get a taste of karma in that not too distant future. As mentioned, if I were a flex pack buyer and I see all these people who purchased last minute, or after Dec get better seats than me I would call up a ticket agent today and demand it be corrected.
