G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 lol your still dreaming if you expect to get a ticket for 130 CAD. Dozens of them are now $150-$160
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I don't expect any of the 500s tickets to sell for less than 200$ each for the ALDS Fify
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I have flights and hotel booked in anticipation of home ALDS games on October 8 and 9 I hope I guessed right I got a GREAT deal on flights in to Billy Bishop airport and at the Delta near the RC
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Dozens of them are now $150-$160 US tho, right? If that's CDN, buy em up and make a profit come game day
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 US tho, right? If that's CDN, buy em up and make a profit come game day Ah yes, good point Plus like $30 in fees on top of THAT
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I've never sat in the 200 level. Seems so far back. What do people think about sitting there?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I've never sat in the 200 level. Seems so far back. What do people think about sitting there? Be specific - 200 level infield? Better than 100 level infield. 200 level in the corners? Terrible spot. 200 outfield is good too.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I've never sat in the 200 level. Seems so far back. What do people think about sitting there? 200 Level Outfield is one of the more underrated spots in the dome. If you have seats closer to CF in the first couple of rows its a really good spot for the price. 242-243 are really good on the Weekend games too because they are in the shade.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Sellers are starting to slowly undercut each other on Stubhub. Nobody is going to buy the hundreds of garbage nosebleeds for 300 f***ing bucks a pop. Jays are popular but they are not the Leafs. When a regular nosebleed costs $90 for the s***** Leafs trust me $300 for a nosebleed to a World Series game will happen. I sold my 200 level outfield tickets to the Yankees series coming up with a face value of $30, I sold them for $100 easily within 2 days of posting them online.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I think I mentioned it before but I'll say this again: I sold my tickets for this Sunday's Red Sox game for more than 3 times face value when you figure in stubhub's cut. They were in section 129, I bought them in a voucher pack for $48.50 each ($194 for all 4) and even after Stubhub's cut I got $579. All it takes is one person to buy your tickets. For every ECJF who thinks its unreasonably priced, theres 5 guys willing to pay it. Right now for Wednesday's game vs the Yankees tickets behind home plate in the 500 level START at $40 US. (between sections 523 and 525) Thats more than 5 times face value after currency conversion (season ticket holders pay $10 a seat for those tickets) If you want to sit in the first 5 rows right behind home plate in 500 level (sections 523 to 525) the prices range from $77 US a ticket as the cheapest available in row 5, to $95 US cheapest available in row 1. Thats more than 10 times face value. For a regular season game. If people are paying $100 to sit in the upper deck for a Wednesday night game versus the Yankees in the regular season, they're sure as s*** gonna pay double that for a playoff game. And luckily my 500 level seats are right behind home plate, in row 7. My advice is anyone who can afford the $810 cost of season tickets in the 500 level behind home plate get on the phone with Rogers, order a pair for next year, then purchase a strip for the playoffs. If you go to half the games, sell half, and if the Jays go far in the playoffs, you'll get free season tickets for next year, and free playoffs this year, and probably still make some extra profit. There are almost 7000 tickets still available for the Jays/Yanks on Tuesday on Stubhub. If you just refresh every few minutes on the day of the game you can always find a sucker dumping his tix. -Source: Me doing this like 10 times since the trade deadline. Again, same rhetoric was going on two years ago with the raps. People forget how big the We The North campaign was. It was a massive deal in the city at the time. Tickets for game 1 started off in the 250+ range and then settle in the mid 100s. I'm fine with waiting until the last minute.

You might be able to wait it out lasst minute and get a good deal but you also take a ton of risk. If the demand is crazy you could end up paying even more much like the Price Yankee game a month ago. You can't compare this to the Raptors.. Jays have way more hype/much bigger fanbase than the Raptors and a way bigger playoff drought.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 My buddy and I that got our tickets both talked about what amount of money we would take for a game 7 World Series to sell our tickets, I told him nothing less than 6 figures, don't care how stupid that sounds, I was 4 when they won last time, this could be the only time to see this in my life so I don't think I would ever sell a game 7 ticket.
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 When tickets go on sale to the general public on the 24th and people realize they can't get them through ticketmaster as they'll sell out instantly you can expect a bunch of tickets on stubhub to start selling. There hasn't been a lot of volume going through for playoff tickets on the secondary market yet, but obviously that will pick up.

Exactly, I say tickets sell out in 10 minutes on the 24th then we will see secondary market prices pop up.

Wonder what the World Series ticket prices would be if it came down to it. I don't think there would be a ticket cheaper than 1,000 if the Jays could win it at home.

Money couldn't buy my ticket period is what I was basically saying.

All these casual baseball fans who have never posted on this board before and who all of sudden hopped on the Jays bandwagon coming on here and bragging about how their postseason tickets are worth so much now and that money couldn't buy their tickets period, this is laughable.

Not a casual fan, lurked the board for years. Used to work at the Rogers Centre with the Jays actually from 2008 - 2012 in the TV side of things, still work in TV but not directly related to the Rogers Centre, Sportsnet however. Here are some photos so people know I am not lying. Edited September 17, 2015 by West Texas Forever

Also, someone who posted that they wouldn't even sell their 500 level seats for $10,000 is laughable as well.

If someone doesn't post on the ONE message board that is frequented by jays fans, then they are simply a bandwagon jumper? That's a laughable statement in and of itself. Simply put, the jays have sucked for a long, long, long time. I think it is pretty clear that the hype around the team is currently justified and people who may follow the jays are now making more of an effort to travel to Toronto, buy 15 dollar beers and watch the game. I would guess most people on here can't technically afford an entire postseason strip, so hoping to go to a few games, while selling other tickets to break even is supply and demand at it's finest. The beauty of living in a free market society! No one is on here trying to bully people into buying their seats, or being underhanded about it. It all appears very black and white to me. When you head to the dome if the jays make the playoffs be sure to wear your shirt that has big bold letters on the back that says "biggest jays fan".... Just so people don't get confused into thinking they are on your level.
AdamLindsMom Verified Member Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Has anyone listed their tickets and viewed what tickets have actually sold for? Are the current cheapest asks reflective of recent sales?
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Has anyone listed their tickets and viewed what tickets have actually sold for? Are the current cheapest asks reflective of recent sales? I started the listing process just so I could see what has sold so far (there is an option when listing to see what has sold so far) In between sections 523-525 is where I looked about a week ago. There had been about a dozen pairs of tickets sold. The cheapest being for $188.89 US. There were a couple in the $230 range each, a few in the $240, $250, and even a few that sold for $270 each.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Or sit at Will Call with a Visa, and get ticket value?!?! I did it with the Leafs, I did it in 92, all you need is a Visa, ECJF is right.

Or you could buy tickets in advance and KNOW you are going. Best of luck if you choose the Visa line. I know a lot of people can't afford or just don't want to pay crazy ticket prices, so I completely understand the frustration at the high prices. However they are to be expected, its been 23 years afterall and there are a lot of hungry fans.

Ticket get put up for sale the day of the game all the time. Like right now you could buy face value right off the jays website for tonight's game.
