CHRIS Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I'm in the approve camp now. See AA? That wasn't so hard.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Guys im all in Ben Revere is one of my most fav's players and AA did it. Thx AA for taking adv of the Rube one last time.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Flawed but good. Probably in the 10-15 range.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Guys i really like Ben Revere, tough as nails.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I don't mind Revere, love Price, and like the reliever we got. But eight players, to rent three guys for two months doesn't seem like a great long-term strategy, especially when other teams are actually picking up controllable players for similar returns. I guess this is what happens when you give your GM a deadline to make the playoffs or else. Completely sacrifice the future for a win-now approach.
Hipfan Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Strongly approve. Love the Tulo deal, Price deal was good (although losing Norris hurts), would be even better if Rogers ponies up and he re-signs. While the prospect cupboard is a lot emptier, there are still some solid young players in the pipeline.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I don't mind Revere, love Price, and like the reliever we got. Tulo? that was a ridiculous deal
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Really liked the Tulo and Revere deals. Mark Lowe deal was good in my mind especially if this team makes the playoffs. The Price deal was the one I liked the least but given what other teams got for SPs I'm not too mad about it. Should be a really fun last couple months of the season.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I'm going from Disapprove to Neither Approve nor Disapprove. The work he did this year still doesn't really out weigh the horrendous trades he did with Miami and New York.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 He's been ok, shows flashes of intelligence, especially with some of the trades...but he's just too damn inconsistent, especially with roster management and depth. Could do better, could do worse.
Candide Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 voted approve. Tulo deal was superb. Price deal was also great. Revere and Lowe deals were solid. overall, if we didn't have the benefit of hindsight, I still would have done the Marlins deal. it wasn't spectacular, but a very solid deal at the time and most people on this board agreed. the only deal that i thought was hot garbage at the time was the Mets deal. that was probably the worst trade made in the past decade and most of us saw that from a mile away when it was consummated. take it out of the equation, and AA has done a very solid job to date in terms of managing assets, trades, and having a good staff to draft/develop prospects.

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Price was the "all in" trade. Some say that is too big of a price to pay for a wildcard game. The upshot is, we will have price available to pitch for that 1 game, backed by the best offense in the majors. We have a better than %50 chance of making the playoffs with 2 months to go for the first time in a long time.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I liked his deadline quite a bit. I now think the Jays are the clear best team in the AL East with a good shot to win the division. So he's gone up a bit.
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Up from neither to approve. People forget AA's one single most consistent thing is that he's one of the best drafters in baseball. The farm should be rebuilt within 2 years again if he continues doing as well as he has in that regard. Meanwhile, we finally have a team that can seriously go for it. Definitely did a great job with being able to keep Pompey and Alford going forward too.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 AA has done his part. time for the players to step up and get it done. wins wins and more wins...

IronLadle Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I think the trades have been stupid, but at the same time I'm really excited. If they can make the postseason they have as good of chance as anyone at winning the World Series. 2016 however doesn't look good. Watched the trade deadline coverage on MLB and they kept saying "2015 Blue Jays"

Without the bad luck the Jays would have one of the better records in the AL right now so you could say AA built a pretty good team.

Watched the trade deadline coverage on MLB and they kept saying "2015 Blue Jays" 2016 will feature bautista, EE, Tulo, Donaldson, Martin, Saunders, Travis, Pillar with a rotation of Stroman, Osuna, Hutchinson, Sanchez and 50 million dollars coming off the books to go get a couple starting arms in the offseason. That looks pretty good to me.

Tulo and Revere are under control.

Watched the trade deadline coverage on MLB and they kept saying "2015 Blue Jays" 2016 looks great for the Jays; 1 - Stroman, Hutch, Sanchez, Osuna, Dickey 2 - Martin 3 - Edwin/Smoak 4 - Travis 5 - JD 6 - Tulo 7 - Revere/Pompey/Valencia 8 - Pillar/Pompey 9 - Jose BP - needs a lot of work but will have the low leverage spots covered.
