  1. 1 - He was starting in AAA 3- Better check your numbers before you make claims like that, because you are very very very very very wrong. - The numbers from his last 7 starts as a Blue Jay DATE OPPONENT RESULT IP H R ER HR BB SO GB FB Pit BF GSc Dec. And you think Hutchinson is the better option?
  2. Less concerned about depth as I am about usage of what they have. There is zero reason at this time for Hutchinson to be in the rotation and Sanchez in the pen. Best possible use of available talent is to move Sanchez to the rotation and move Hutchinson to AAA or a long relief spot in the pen. Right now, I would opt for AAA as Hutchinson is just awful right now.
  3. With M.B. and R.A.D.'s salaries coming off the books, I hope the Blue Jays make a big effort to resign Price. They'll have the money, so that won't be an excuse.
  4. Until Reyes is out of SS permanently, and until Collabello is out of LF permanently, this team is doomed to mediocrity. In other words, Gibbons must be fired and a manager with a functioning brain must be hired. Move Reyes to LF. You keep his bat but lose all the grounders through his legs. Reyes cannot play a worse LF than Collabello, (I might not be able to play a worse LF than Collabello), and with Goins at SS you get great D where it matters. Please fire Gibbons.
  5. Gibbons inability to learn from his own mistakes is the reason why he needs to be fired. He keeps putting Colabello in LF when it has been proven beyond any doubt that he can't play the position and costs them runs/games by being out there. Gibbons lack of courage to confront Reyes and move him to LF is reason number 2. The guy simply does not know how to make the most out of the players he's got. He keeps putting players in positions they are not capable of playing; Reyes at SS and Colabello in LF. The team needs a manager who can manage the players he has and to use them in a logical, useful way.
  6. Gibbons needs to be fired for just one reason: He is stupid/insane enough to place Colabello in the OF after he has cost them numerous loses. If Gibbons had any brains/guts, he would tell Reyes he's the new LF'er and Goins would be the everyday SS.
  7. How does removing our #2 starter (sometimes our best starter) from the rotation help anything? Sanchez and Buehrle are the only two good starters we have. Want to help the rotation, get someone to add to them. Right now the problem with the rotation is when Dickey, Hutchinson and the #5 spot comes up. Taking Sanchez out of the rotation helps with nothing. I don't understand why they won't give Norris a second look. If he is any good, then you can get another starter and put Dickey into a long relief role, because he and Hutch are both useless, but Hutch is very young and could improve. Dickey is bad and will only get worse.
  8. I want to lock AA into a room with a phone, no food, no water, no toilet facilities, and he can not come out until he has acquired a closer. Enough of this garbage, Cecil just can't handle the job.
  9. At least he didn't go full Jackie Moon and say "suck my cock, I'll murder your family"
  10. So they would rather have Tolleson or Valencia in the OF then Pompey? WTF? I hope the Jays lose some games due to poor OF play in the next few days to smarten them up.
  11. Tilting at windmills.
  12. I have no problem with either Norris or Sanchez getting more seasoning in AAA. Mind you I'd rather have either of them start a game over Dickey. Shame he can't be sent down to AAA. Is it true that the HR king is going to be in the rotation? Charlie Sweeney, June 12, 1886- allowed 7 HR in one game Marco Estrada - CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
  13. Every time I see Goins at the plate I die a little inside. Can the Blue Jays choose to DH for him and let the pitcher hit?
  14. I will not argue about whether he should or shouldn't be fired. I want to talk about WILL he be fired. A new President will be hired at the end of the season. That President will want "his" GM, not a left over from the previous administration. So for AA to keep his job he NEEDS some kind of success to entrench himself in the position; and success is measured in wins and playoff appearances and championships. Its only April, but he is certainly looking down the road and time slips by fast in a season. At some point AA, if the Blue Jays continue to struggle, will see his own job in jeopardy; with few options left change the team. I believe to him the easiest thing to try is a new manager. Since the firing of Jimmy Williams after a bad start in 1989, there has always been this hope in certain sectors that a team can be turned around by "the right guy". If the Blue Jays continue to struggle, play at .500 or below in May, AA will get desperate, and I believe Gibbons being fired will happen.
  15. The anti-Blue Jay bias in the US media reached incredible proportions opening day. I've seen coverage of the game that didn't even mention the Blue Jays. It was Yankees this and Yankees that, A-Rod, Tanaka, but not even a mention of the Blue Jays playing the Yankees until the score was given. One didn't even mention the Blue Jays in that, it was "Yankees go down 6-1". The US media doesn't even want to acknowledge the existence of the team. The total lack of respect this team, the organization gets from the US media should be used in the clubhouse to motivate the team.
  16. Travis's time will be 2016 I predict Izturis will totally suck as usual. Goins will play flashy defense and average 1 hit/month Kawasaki will play his way into being the regular 2B just like last year.
  17. Could Smoak have a longer swing? I can see why he has struggled and got DFA'ed
  18. A lot of people are expecting too much from Stroman. The "sophomore jinx" is a fancy way of saying in the second year the league scouts a player and adjusts to them and it varies on how long it takes that player to counter adjust. Many players struggle in their second season after a good rookie season. A trip back to AAA wouldn't surprise me anymore then Stroman having a great season. Starting pitching is going to be a problem on this team I think. Dickey and Buehrle are old and in decline, Hutch is a good pitcher, but is a #3 type guy. Only Stroman has the potential to be a front end of the rotation and as I said, you can't depend too heavily on a second year starter, especially one as young as him. I would start a vet on opening day, especially considering they are going at Yankee stadium. I think Buehrle is a better pitcher then Dickey, so I would go with Buehrle.
  19. AA isn't a good GM, he has a tendency towards extremes. He either gets huge talent for a position, or gets nothing at all. The whole organization is rudderless though. No goals, no direction, and while AA is part of the problem, he is not the only one that needs to go. The Blue Jays are drifting into Leafs territory when it comes to poor leadership and organization of a professional sports franchise.
  20. Class, nothing but class dude
  21. No, I covered that path, its called Finishing Last.
  22. I don't understand the Blue Jays. Going into this off season there were 2 smart paths and one that was stupid beyond reasoning. Path 1 - In for a penny in for a pound. Spend more money add some serious pitching help and a high end bat and take a run at it in 2014 Path 2- Tear down the team, replenish the minors and finish last with a low payroll Instead they chose the stupid path - Do nothing, finish last with a high payroll and do nothing to rebuild the system. Guarantee living in the basement for the foreseeable future. Granted, they could do a halfa$$ed job of Path 2 at the trading deadline, but the returns will be more or less lower than what they would have gotten if they did it right in the offseason. Last place without any plans to compete or rebuild. How does AA and Beeston have jobs?
