GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 The Jays moving Alford and Norris for Price would be devastating. Extending him after would be franchise crippling. How so? You let Buehrle walk and tack on some more millions per. I'd rather be paying Price that, than what we've been paying Buehrle.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 How would you guys feel if it was Norris, Pompey + for Price and a contract?
Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Now the load is now on the players as AA sits back and puts his feet up grabs a cold one then lights a stoogie!
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Might as well go Pompey for Gomez now. Ruined the entire system Alex why don't you
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 This is so much better than Cincinnati got for Cueto. And that was a good deal for them! I don't understand Norris + Alford. I think it's partially because if you jump on the first available you get the cheaper deal. Detroit waited before offering Price and it worked out for them in a bidding war.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Meh, Norris looks mediocre and Alford is far away, plus Price is exponentially better than Dickey. This is far better than the Mets trade IMO. I think I can stomach it. It's not a crippling deal at all. Norris' stock has been free falling.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 David Price is going to pitch for the Toronto Blue Jays. WOW!

We don't know all the details yet! AA isn't the type to really crumble under pressure the pat couple of years. He does what he has in his planned, look at the Tulo trade
LTR Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Franchise = FUBAR and not even a good chance to get a WC
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I'm gonna laugh at all you idiots who love this when Price is succeeding elsewhere and Norris is being a stud in Detroit while the jays have nothing to show for it.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Nobody is even mentioning an extension possibility yet. Highly doubt there is one.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 Pretty sure Bautista & EE are smiling today. f*** Dominicans. Price TJS after one pitch
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Meh, Norris looks mediocre and Alford is far away, plus Price is exponentially better than Dickey. This is far better than the Mets trade IMO. I think I can stomach it. People forget that Alford is still basically a lottery ticket. I would have been more than fine with him or Norris but both seems steep and I just figured after the Tulo trade that AA would only cash in his chips for someone with at least 2016 control. This is risky as f***. Can't see AA keeping his job if they still miss the playoffs after this.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 It's not a crippling deal at all. Norris' stock has been free falling. Yeah I think people have been ignoring Norris' numbers in Buffalo. Yeah he has age on his side but still. He would've dropped a few spots if he kept this up.

We have a chance to do something we haven't done in the last 22 years

cusstown Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Franchise = FUBAR and not even a good chance to get a WC To be fair, the franchise has been FUBAR several times over the last 20 years without 1 legitimate WC contender. At least this time we have one. I don't like the value either, but it's nice to FINALLY have a legitimate contender. If only Stro was here too...
