Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 They are and they do, at a very steep cost. For a team with payroll restrictions who has to rely on their farm system, I'm surprised. They can win this year.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I think it's pretty darn clear now we're gonna have to get Price and Cespedes. How about Josh Reddick and Jesse Chavez. Both under contract an extra year.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Yoooo. AA please go and get Reddick. Would be a perfect fit in LF.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Lmao. We should really make a bid for Reddick.

LTR Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 He likes to bitch doesn't he. Granted he may have had a case with Donaldson, but it's part of the game.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Reddick would be the final piece to our juggernaut.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I don't think Beane would want to give us another middle of the order bat though .... But how f***ing sick would Reddick look in the middle of all our slugging righties.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Reddick would be the final piece to our juggernaut. I feel like Pompey could fill in almost as well? Am I crazy?

He got what he wanted and Barreto/Lawrie are pretty much performing the way they were expected to
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I feel like Pompey could fill in almost as well? Am I crazy? For this year? Yes. Though I agree Pompey should be up here right now
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Pompey has been tearing s*** in the past as well. He was destroying Buffalo in 15 games last year and look what happened to him this year. Maybe the reason why he's down there is because they want to see that he's having good at bats and hitting good pitches.

It's absurd to imagine a scenario where Carerra is actually preferred over Pompey. If the deadlines goes and he's still a Jay, he'll be up here.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 That's a really, REALLY nice return on a few months of Zobrist.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Looks like Zobrist's defense and base running have fallen off a lot this year. Only projected for a 2.5 WAR season right now. That's a big drop off. He's 34 now, so he's moving into the decline stages of his career...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Wow. Overpayment. Yeah, that was quite a bit.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 "Little Pedro" and "El jucho" reunited again http://ctrlv.cz/shots/2015/07/28/1oWt.png

Players performance don't typically drop off for no reason, they are who they are... it's either injury or age.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'd target a guy like Seth Smith to platoon in LF with someone. The Jays need some left handed bats to balance the lineup. Platoon him with Valencia
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Don't need Cesp, got Pompey Are you comparing Cespedes to Pompey??
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 Are you comparing Cespedes to Pompey?? Well considering it could potentially cost Pompey to get Cespedes, what do you suggest doing? I'll take 6 years of Pompey over 3 months of Cespedes, thanks.
