pickoff22 Verified Member Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 I like how the rest of us give you reasons for why we don't think it was a good decision and Trouba just calls you stupid. Speaks to his character (or lack thereof). I should really learn to just use the ignore feature, but it's like that car accident you can't look away from even when you know you shouldn't be watching
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 This thread needs to make like a tree...
Mac Outlaw Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Is the team winning? Yes. Does Gibby have them playing hard? Yes. Is the team ready to go everyday? Yes. John Gibbons is doing his job and doing it well.

John Gibbons is doing his job and doing it well. gibby has nothing to do with any of those things. credit AA for a professional, hard working team. credit gibby for filling out a lineup card and making stupid in game decisions
Mac Outlaw Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 AA? Not saying he doesn't have a role, because he brought the guys in, but he's the suit in the office. Gibby's actually with the team day in and day out. He's got to make what he was given work, and he has.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Good job Gibby! Managing today was on point.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Managing today was on point. Yup, Gibby made all the right moves. Using Sanchez as he did is basically textbook.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 Managing today was on point. It was, needs to happen more often.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Also, hitting Donaldson second from about May onwards. How many wins can be directly attributed to Donaldson getting one more AB in a game? At least three. Good moves are invisible.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Yep, as his harshest critic, he did well today. More of that pls.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Self proclaimed...? What did I proclaim?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Self proclaimed...? What did I proclaim? Trouba's posted below you, lol.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Self proclaimed...? What did I proclaim? Sorry wok. I should just do what you've done.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Well this is embarrassing.
43211234 Verified Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Well this is embarrassing. Nothing embarrassing about having Trouba on ignore.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Nothing embarrassing about having Trouba on ignore. Honestly, one of the best decisions to make. Reading through the GDT's now isn't the same hellhole it used to be.
Mozzer Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 John Gibbons = manager of the year
art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Agreed. I was thinking whether Gibby was thinking at the time that he was really managing "out of the box" for keeping Cecil in the 9th Same for leaving Estrada in to face Hardy in the 8th... Gibbons was on point tonight. Keeping Cecil in to face Davis in the 9th was so proud.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Gibbons was on point tonight. Keeping Cecil in to face Davis in the 9th was so proud. Yup. Gibby redemption thread coming? Cecil destroyed Davis in the 9th and it was very smart to leave him in to face him regardless of the outcome.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Gibby was terrific yesterday. Pushed all the right buttons. Hope we see more of that.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 f*** Gibby, fire his fat ass already. Set the team up to fail with multiple bone head dumbass decisions going into the playoffs. But Buehrle got a chance for his record, and all o starters got their rest. What a f***ing idiot.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 "This game was broke open...."
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Why the f*** are we watching some dude on an iPad? Edit: Why the f*** am I posting in this thread??? Oops........
ProfessionalAtBat Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Tanking last five games is why a 1st round loss will be squarely on Gibbons and NO one else. #worstmanager
bluejays12 Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Gibbons has got to go. Get a real manager like Maddon
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 This is the fire gibby and venting thread. Why is my fire gibby and vent being deleted? Just curious
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 If Price was healthy and they decided to give him 11 days of rest in between starts, then yeah, someone should be held accountable for that. I don't think the Jays purposely tanked games to face Texas. I just don't think they cared who they faced and decided rest was more important. If it comes back to bite them on the ass, then it honestly wouldn't surprise me.
