  1. Atkins built a bad bullpen indeed. And Schneider couldn't wait to use it. Fire John Schneider. I'd love Gibbons back but he's probably too old. Don't know who the answer is, but this red faced clown ain't it.
  2. No but i might as well be. so is there a better way to watch the game?
  3. I've been watching Jays telecasts all of 2022. If I got to listen to much more of Pat Tabler, I swear I gotta get the shotgun out. But that's not why I'm here. I'm here for Guillermo Martinez. Does this guy do anything as the batting coach? We got a good offense, you'd figure he'd get some credit. But Buck, Tabler, Shulman etc don't even mention him. Pete Walker is God's gift to pitching every freaking telecast and they talk about him all the time. But with Guillermo Martinez, it's crickets. Any reason for this?
  4. I wish it were 2020.
  5. What’s gonna happen with Tulo? He’s on the books for 20 million in 2019 and 14 million in 2020. Someone mentioned Morales isn’t going away next year. Won’t Tulo be here too?
  6. Well none of that sounds good. Bottom line, we didn’t trade much so can’t expect much back. If there was a better deal they would have made it.
  7. When is John Gibbons gonna get his due? As an ex-catcher, you know he was probably gonna handle pitching staffs and bullpen decisions well, which he always has. I like his batting lineups too. The guy can manage, let's move on.
  8. I think when he added Price and Tulo in 2015 it was simply because he thought that team could win the World Series that year. And he wasn't wrong. That team was beastly, the best we've put on the field since 93. It came down to our 1-2 hitters not getting it done in the top of the 9th in Game 6. Should have scored and didn't. The start of this was the Marlins deal and who knows why that happened when it did. Has he ever explained the timing?
  9. According to Baseball reference, Hech has 4.1 WAR over parts of 7 seasons in the bigs. D'Arnaud has accumulated 2.1 WAR over parts of 6 seasons in the bigs, and he's hurt again. Musgrove has started 25 games over two seasons in addition to working out of the pen and has 0.6 WAR to show for it. He's currently in the Pirates system coming back from an injury. Eric Thames flamed out after the trade to Seattle and was out of the bigs for 5 seasons. I'm surprised as any he's back, but no one saw that coming. With the caveat of course being "So far", I'd tend to agree with G-Snarls that none of these players have been missed.
  10. Quick question here. I remember when AA came in and revamped the scouting department from however it was run during the JP regime. Within a few years our system improved dramatically and was maybe seen as top 10. Then we traded a bunch of prospects for Dickey, Donaldson, Tulo, Price etc. Didn't we trade 5 guys for Happ in some deal with the Astros? Anyway, I did a little checking last night, and would it be right to say that outside of Syndergaard, we haven't lost anyone so far who's done a whole lot at the MLB level?
  11. I agree. He can quit and/or get fired if Stroman sucks. I personally love Gibby, but Liriano is the call in this game.
  12. That's bad mojo. We don't need any of that now.
  13. If Stro had a four hitter going? A two hitter? A no hitter, then what? I like what you bring to the board Grant, but sometimes this s*** ain't as easy as statistics. Pull Stro after twice thru the order regardless of game flow, or results? I can't get behind that.
  14. You are crazy. Justin Joke is a joke. Keep his ass glued to the pine. He's a candidate for the Golden Sombrero or Olympic Rings every time out.
  15. It's all on the f***ing table today. Blowout win, blowout loss, close win, close loss, who the hell knows. Toss a coin, that's it.
  16. Greetings all. This game scares the hell out of me, as it should. No one should be confident going into a single elimination game in baseball. If you're feeling good, you don't know the game. I'd go with the board consensus and Liriano. The O's are noticeably worse against left handed pitching, so why play to their strength and start Stroman? I don't like it and all we can do is hope that it works out. I haven't posted since we lost in Game 6 last year. This team doesn't seem as good as the one last year, which felt like it was the best one in baseball after the regular season. With that being said, the starting pitching is better and this group has been there before, so who the hell knows. I think if we get through the Orioles, we'll have just as good a shot as anyone to make it to the World Series. You don't get post season games every year, as this fan base should know, better than almost anyone. 1994 to 2014 sucked a prodigious amount of ass, so let's enjoy this one tonight. Let's f*** these Orioles up and keep the dream alive. LET'S f*** THESE ORIOLES UP!!!! STRO SHOW BABY, STRO SHOW!!!
  17. My final thoughts on a disappointing series. It's awful tough to win a series when your ace loses twice. If Price had won one game, we'd still be playing. I don't know what our final batting average with running in scoring position was. Let's say it was .200, though I think it was lower. Awful tough to win a playoff series with a batting average like that. A man on third with nobody out on in the top of the ninth down one. And you can't score that run. You don't deserve to go the World Series. We lost Game Six with Donaldson at the dish and having thrown Price - Sanchez - Osuna. We lost with our best. The f***ing Cy Young winner and MVP, quite possibly. I give full credit to the Royals. I'm not saying they're the better team, but they were this series. I hope they get crushed by the Mets and lose the World Series again. f*** KC.
  18. The plan is for Osuna to get six outs and us to get a run in the top of the 9th.
  19. Before the 7th I thought I was watching one of the best starts in post-season history. And I was. 1 hit, 18 up, 18 down. Near perfection.
  20. I love how he calls runs "points". Wrong sport dude, and you played it.
  21. If the Royals beat Price in Game 6, you tip the cap and say they had the better series and deserved to win. If they don't, then it's Game 7 and its anybody's series. These elimination games are killing me. Number five is coming up. I hope like hell we can get to number six.
  22. Halladay just wanted to win and that wasn't going to happen here. He gave us the best years of his pitching career and got nothing back. I don't begrudge him for wanting to leave. The tragedy was getting back a bunch of junk in that trade. Hopefully Travis amounts to something though.
  23. I agree. Osuna shouldn't have come in. Need to save him for Game 5. There was no need for that.
