LTR Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Please fire this f***ing moron. Please. He makes a team that's already hard to cheer for impossible to cheer for. Um k.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 We get to 10 games below .500 AA probably won't have a choice Gibby would have to be fired
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 lol love watching casual fans s*** themselves. I love watching people defend a manager who consistently makes bad bullpen decisions, plays DH's in the outfield, back-up catchers at DH, starting catchers at 2B, overworks his young relievers (Osuna/Castro), and so on. Keep believing a bad manager can't hurt a team. I've wanted Gibbons gone since the moment he was announced as manager in 2013. This was pretty darn predictable.

I'm pretty indifferent about Gibby personally, but he's been given outfield options of Pillar, Carrera, and.... They wouldn't put Bautista on the DL, they're sticking with Pompey in AAA...not much for Gibby to work with in this regard.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Between him and John Farrell, I don't know who's going to get fired first.. both of them deserve to be fired. We need a fresh manager.. whatever Gibbons is doing is not working.
LTR Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 You guys keep talking about people getting fired. Who is this magical figurehead that is going to come in and swoop these guys away and replace them with somebody better? Lol
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I have nothing against Gibby and I think hes fairly decent as a manager with his in game decisions but at this point he needs to be fired for the sake of making a change before being forced to dismantle the team at the deadline.

Getting some good prospects for EE and Bautista is a good thing.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 Really...benching Edwin for Colabello........
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Really...benching Edwin for Colabello........ Is it possible that Edwin isn't quite healthy? He's kind of sucked balls all season. Maybe it's a needed day off.
xposbrad Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Thread needs to be renamed Fire Gibbons + AA Now!!
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 We are getting closer to my "fire Gibby and go on a 2nd half run" prediction. Just a matter of how long the Fat Greek wants to wait. If he waits too long, he will have wasted a golden opportunity. The only "runs" this team will be having is if they eat Taco Bell for dinner. And I say that as someone who was against hiring Gibbons again in the first place and have wanted him gone since minute one. It's just that AA and Beeston also need to go for assembling such a horseshit team.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Gibbons is a problem but not nearly the biggest problem. The biggest problem is Rogers being the worst f***ing owners in baseball. Another problem is AA being a below average GM. But hey, all the Rogers media covering this team will just keep blaming Jose Reyes and s*** like that. Rinse and repeat.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Then Gibbons needs to say that instead of saying he is going with the hot bat Gibbons doesn't have to say s*** f***ing all to you people. I don't get why fans feel that "management" has to be totally honest and up-front with them at all times, you do not need or deserve to know everything that is happening behind the scenes just because you like a certain sportsball team.

Shi: "So Gibby, whats up with EE?" Gibby: "Oh no clue" or "No Comment". Fans: "FIRE GIBBY. HE DOESN'T KNOW s***! Couldn't he at least make something up? LOLZ!"
goeb Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 He will be fired by the All-Star Break, as will AA. They are on a scorching hot seat as we speak and the Jays are not showing much sign of improvement. When the pitching shows up the bats slumber, and when the bats are performing the pitching is non-existent. It has been going on too long.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I wouldn't say that they're the worst, with a top 10 payroll. Would you say the Yankees had a bad owner if they had the 8th largest payroll, yet continued to pocked a lot of the revenue without putting it back into the team?

Rogers has given this org a top 10 payroll for the past three seasons. They are not the issue. Gibbons is a terrible manager, and Alex is not a good GM. I think you could get away with AA as GM if he had a manager that had a clue how to use a roster effectively (not using Castro as closer right away, not DH'ing Navarro, and so on), but then again, the roster was haphazardly put together by AA in the first place, so they share the blame. Gibbons has been manager the only two times Rogers has spent money since owning the team (2005-08 and 2013-present). Every other time they've been cutting payroll down. People wonder why the Jays always underachieve despite having the talent. Pretty darn simple to figure that out when you see who is running the ship.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Nice in game management from Gibbons by pinch hitting Smoak there. Smoak gets on base to set up Pillar nicely. No?

So AA is not a good GM but it's not the owners' fault for employing him for 5+ years? When the company keeps hiring s*** presidents/gms that can't make the playoffs ever maybe it is the owners' fault.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 So we won... so like... Extend Gibbons Now, right?
