I wonder how they classify rookies. Goins has been on the Blue Jays for parts of three seasons, so isn't that an insult? It seems like Goins gets no respect (as Rodney Dangerfield would say).

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 He is in the lineup Thought he was injured...damn
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Stroman is carrying it with pride. lol he just wants to be a part of it. Can't wait to see him start next weekend. Return to the majors and face the Yankees in the middle of a pennant race. No pressure.

Crow Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Can we get some emotion out of tulo? I understand the guy is business first but it's as though he s really still not sure if he wants to be here. Strikes out with bad calls. Nothing. Big plays. Nothing. No emotion If this guy would show us the team how inspired he is, it would gravitate even more thru team. We are now waiting on a "tulo watch" but reality is he has to play like he is loving being here. His demeanour will inspire team even if he isn't hitting. He almost plays like a suck right now.

Funny, he covered this before he ever played a game for this team. Fans need to stop worrying about this nonsense.
Crow Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Not worried ,his defence is so much better. Just an observation. But how pumped would everyone be and yet another lift if this guy were to just be alive even in body language. Jays are great with him, I just find him to be a bit of a robot
EMK19 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I'm actually glad that he has that personality of a "robot". We got enough guys who play with emotion on this team (sometimes with too much) and I find that he provides a nice counterbalance. He brought in that professional/cool-headed approach to the game that I felt the team needed more of prior to his acquisition.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I like business first players. If you want players having fun on the field let's put a bunch of mentally challenged kids on the field. They'd have a f***ing blast. Tulo is about production and wins. He's about substance over style.
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 He may have always been a robot. I've never watched a Rockies game in the past so I can't be sure, but are people just expecting him to be a brand new person without seeing who he was with Colorado?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Honest question: is trading Tulo a consideration after this season? I know people are going to flame that, but it has nothing to do with his performance right now. It has everything to do with potential roi for the remainder of his deal. When you pay a player for his twilight, you're not going to get maximum value. Trading him now (after 2015 season) means you still might get a good haul in return and you don't have to worry about paying $100m to a shortstop in 30's with a history of injury problems and a reluctancy to change positions ever (he said he'd retire before he moves off short). I was always against this trade, and while his defense has been great, and his offense should improve, it's the future seasons that I'm worried about. Trade him to Seattle for Brad Miller and whatever else you could get (assuming Seattle still wants short-term big names) and use the difference to upgrade elsewhere. He'd accept a trade out of Toronto, I would think. He's not someone who has spent many years here like Edwin who would likely block a move.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Who's going to be the starting SS then? Don't say Goins.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 You showed some restraint there. Thumbs up to you. Cooler heads prevail.

When he's back to his normal self next year, you'll be calling him your favourite player.
