GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I wonder if we will circle back and go for Brandon Barnes, we were interested in him last year and he would be a solid depth addition.
puphood Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 And in the Post-season? The post season is not the immediate problem the SP and LF for a run at the playoffs is and to be honest now may be a good time to pick up a fleet of foot LF that can swing a bat. Big name SP is going to cost to much for no or little return this year so why go big? Detroit, Oakland went big last year and ask them were it got them and they are still s*** and sellers this year. I am not saying don't go get SP but don't sell the Farm.......

GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 i smell a troll What would you rather see in LF, Barnes or Colabello?
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 What would you rather see in LF, Barnes or Colabello? Colabello is replacement level despite having an OPS of .867. Thats how terrible he is in the field. I'd rather have Pompey.
puphood Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 This team has a shot at the wild card and ALE and if either SP and LF is added at this point they may go further.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 What would you rather see in LF, Barnes or Colabello? Ty Kelly or Pompey
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Follow up post (highlighted response): http://i.gyazo.com/ed5a49bbb0800741de3b6df2dc240121.png Just for shits and giggles, what do people think about the trade scenario he outlined? I probably make the deal for Norris, Jimenez, Pentecost and Urena (I'm one of the few people that actually really likes the Hamels contract), and reject the one that involves both Norris and Pompey going the other way. Although, moving Norris probably bites you in the ass very quickly. The one with Pentecost and Urena I would do every time, and I don't like Hamels (or Norris for that matter), but that would be a gray deal for us.
Bigben Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Can someone please tell claim to me why we are interested in mike fiers? (Mlbtraderumors)Certainly there are better options out there. I keep hearing that payroll is a issue but wouldn't it be better to not do anything?
Bigben Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 It will be interesting to see what the royals gave up to squire Ceuto
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Cueto traded to the Reds edit: derp Royals
Bigben Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Royals To Acquire Johnny Cueto http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/07/royals-to-acquire-johnny-cueto.html
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Shits going to hit the fan now. Hopefully a flurry of deals go down.
Superdood Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Hope the Jays act fast and don't end up with some 3 or 4 type pitcher like we always do.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I'm just happy we didn't get him. Cueto scares me.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Hope the Jays act fast and don't end up with some 3 or 4 type pitcher like we always do. A solid number 3 would be a big improvement over what we have in the back end of our rotation right now
Superdood Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 A solid number 3 would be a big improvement over what we have in the back end of our rotation right now I'd prefer an ace but you're correct, the back end is horrid right now. Here's hoping AA can get something done.

Because he makes nothing in 2015, will make nothing in 2016, and then will have three years of arbitration after that. Short version: he's cheap.
McDude Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 royals getting cueto.. his first start is going to be against us. fml
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Cueto traded to the Reds edit: derp Royals Why derp Royals....if they didn't give up their top prospect if probably is a great deal for them
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Why derp Royals....if they didn't give up their top prospect if probably is a great deal for them Re read that and figure it out
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Why derp Royals....if they didn't give up their top prospect if probably is a great deal for them derp because he wrote Cueto traded to *Reds* lol Anyways I'm happy he got traded to a team not in the AL East, I don't think we were serious about acquiring him

TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Here come the "Just hand the World Series to the Royals" comments. I can't wait for some s***** wildcard team to take them out
awsomest Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 its amazing what making the wildcard game has done for the pirates and royals.
admin Site Manager Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Jays need a couple moves. If they go all in for a SP, they need to make atleast one more move. Time for Colabello to gtfo.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Why derp Royals....if they didn't give up their top prospect if probably is a great deal for them So far they have only given up a reliever. Lets see.
ColdPint Verified Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I hope all the noise surrounding us going after Mike Fiers is just a smokescreen for something bigger. Mike Fiers isn't going to get it done for us, he's not what the Jays need. It's a broken record but we need a true #1, failing that a #2. If AA is spending time, once again, looking at #3-5 type guys then we might as well pack it in and look forward to the offseason when the Jays should have money to spend.
