o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 According to cbssports, one team who has talked with the whitesox said their price for Shark was 4 players that's ridiculous. he'd be a rental for 2.5 months. not worth giving up 4 players. especially when that deal on it's own wont be enough for the jays.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 ^ who are the Rays selling? Boxberger, Jepsen, McGee, Jaso, DeJesus, possibly Loney, Forsythe and while unlikely and a long shot, Longoria. This franchise is headed for a rebuild and is basically waiting for a new stadium, relocation, or the attendance to reach levels that are typical for an MLB team.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Bautista would hate it but what would Bal more want for O'day Maybe a mid-level prospect at best, as he is a free agent at season's end.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Carrasco or bust. Seriously. Now that his name was mentioned, he needs to become a Blue Jay.
baubau Verified Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Carrasco or bust. Seriously. Now that his name was mentioned, he needs to become a Blue Jay. I hope AA can get it done. I know during the trade for Donaldson Billy/AA mentioned that they had long discussions and nothing was really done till AA added Lawrie. Might be the case with Carrasco right now as well. Could be they want someone like Pillar to get the deal done, someone who is already in the ML roster and not a prospect like Pompey/Alfrod which is what AA could be alternatively offering. Will be interesting to see what goes down if anything.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 lol not happening Definitely not. In fact, I see the attendance falling further.. fans in St. Pete are as apathetic of Tropicana Field and the Rays (despite TV numbers) as the Montreealers were when Loria ran the Expos to the ground.. Rays fans know relocation is coming, as MLB seems to be really pushing for Montreal to build a new stadium so they can put a team there.. and they just might get it, especially as the city of St. Pete continues to sit on its hands on building a new stadium for the Rays.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Sherman's post on the trade market from earlier today. He says that the sentiment throughout the industry is that the Jays are the next team to move in on a starting pitcher. He also mentions Steve Cishek's availability on the market, and based on his comments, and the Marlins seemingly permanent state of being cheap as f***, Cishek could probably be had for nothing but his salary. http://nypost.com/2015/07/23/how-the-loaded-relief-pitcher-market-is-starting-to-shake-out/

Tight budget = if you take on Navarro, we can take on 1M.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Cardinals nearing trade for Steve Cishek
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Cardinals nearing trade for Steve Cishek I bet that cost nothing.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 David Cameron Cishek is a classic buy-low for STL. Cost unknown, but I’d bet on this looking shrewd in a few months. #marlins to receive double A RHP Kyle Barraclough from cardinals for Steve Cishek
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Seriously if the Indians are making CC available, just give them whatever prospect they want.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Stro? He isn't a prospect, neither is Devon Travis. Norris, Hoffman, Alford etc are
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 No we don't want to pay out our noses for rentals, f*** off Shi.

thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 ftfy You want to clean out the farm for a rental? Be my guest, just don't be complaining after this year when things get ugly.
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 You want to clean out the farm for a rental? Be my guest, just don't be complaining after this year when things get ugly. Define cleaning out the farm. I hardly consider trading 2-3 good prospects in a good system as "cleaning out"
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 ftfy What does ftfy mean? Cleaning out the farm is dealing Norris or Hoffman, Pompey or Alford and Castro
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 If we can land Carlos I would give Cleveland Pompey, Norris, Sanchez and Castro for Carrasco , Allen and Bourn
