f*** you. Suck my dick.

Boyd is proving he's legit, and we could see him in the majors soon.

I wouldn't get to attached. AA seems to be following the Nolin/Molina approach where he keeps players at a level longer then they should be there to boost trade value and then flip him in deals for major league players.

Player A - 24 yrs, AA, 42.2IP, 9.28 K/9, 2.74 B/9, 1.05ERA, 2.19FIP

Player B - 25 yrs, AA, 43.0IP, 7.53 K/9, 1.67 B/9, 2.72ERA, 2.52FIP

Who is player A and B? Both have nice stats currently in AA, but stats aren't everything.

Matt Boyd might be nice in the future, but he probably would be destroyed as a starter now, probably could be an average reliever though if given the shot this year.

Deck McGuire is about to turn 26 in the next month. Matt Boyd just turned 24.

Its also Decks 5th season in AA, while Boyds 2nd. Not to mention that Boyds #s are much better than Decks are.

Deck McGuire SIERA: 3.37

Matt Boyd SIERA: 2.74

Yea well I'm just saying lots of guys have put up nice stats in AA over 50~ip to do not much in AAA/Majors over as a starter. Just to mention a few Jays over the last couple years, Brad Mills, Rzep, Cecil, Carreno etc..

Stuff w/ command > Command fringy stuff > Stuff no command

Different league too though. One has a spotted history...but has changed orgs now too. It is good to see him pitching better though.

Boyd has been pretty consistent with most of his numbers. And he's a lefty which makes his reliever prospects better (increases his likelihood of making the majors). Any time someone outside of an orgs top 10 puts up great numbers they will be scrutinized closely. Any hiccup for Boyd and he'll be right back out of the picture.

Also to be noted about Boyd is that he does not get many Ground Balls (34% in his MILB career and 25% this year) and he's played in homer friendly parks to date. Not to take away from the success he's had but Buffalo will be a test.

Per Jeff Blair, Matt Boyd has been pulled from his start in Buffalo today. #BlueJays

Interesting. Likely not an injury so either trade in the works or we found our Saturday pitcher

Do we believe Cueto was really pushed back to Friday because of a trade in the works and Jays wanted him for Saturday?

Cueto been dealing with some injuries though.

I know, just creating some afternoon excitement. I Was surprised he had been held back after it was said he was fine.....

Let's hope it's not another Sean Nolin situation, that sucked.

Think Boyd is a Gravemam than a Nolin. Someone who is capable of being a mid rotation starter or better. Still, you trade him for long term assets if you can. Pitchers are a crap shot and the Jays probably have more pitchers than they know what to do with.

I said weeks ago that Boyd is ahead of Norris in Jays depth chart rotation and some morons here called me crazy.

In Buffalo, mgr Gary Allenson says #BlueJays said to scratch Matt Boyd from start today and “back him off two days.” Jays need Sat. starter.

Seems more likely to be a trade

Why back off on calling him up?

Well two days would be Saturday, the day he would pitch here. And they may not call him up yet as they dont want to send anyone down till last minute

cause it would likely take a reliever out of your mix on Friday. waiting to call him up gives more flexibility
