BTS Community Moderator Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 This trade... has not worked out well.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 This trade... has not worked out well. I guess all the board experts got this one wrong. An injury-prone OF at odds with his former team's management for a stable arm was supposed to be a great deal. Oh well as long as the Jays keep finding these hacks that can provide short-term production in the OF before flaming out the team will be ok.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 well why not, anyways it doesn't really matter much does it. Better this team loses 90 games, and we can move on from Gibby and AA,

These dumbass comments "I hope this team will be horrible so the front office can get fired and Rogers can bring in somebody new where it's a 50-50 chance that the next regime will be better".
LTR Verified Member Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Looks like the original operation was a failure.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 This trade... has not worked out well. I think it's working out as expected. We all thought Happ would get better at Safeco, and we all knew Saunders was one of the most injury prone players in the league. I still like this trade, and unless he breaks a few more bones, I still expect Saunders to contribute at some point.

It's not a 50-50 chance. Look around the league. The chance you get a better GM than AA are slim, regardless of what people think of him. Especially when you consider the people who would be doing the hiring.

Praxis Verified Member Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 But, but, but WAR, PWWHAARRRRR, WHORE?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Yes, the trade is bad.. but Happ hasn't helped the Mariners get into contention.. they have a worse record than the Jays, and they can't score or shows signs of getting on base.

baubau Verified Member Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Once Saunders isn't rushed and comes back next year having a Melky like come back, I will thoroughly enjoy bumping this thread.

I want AA to be fired even if they win 90 games. Gibbons can stay though.

ScientificReason Verified Member Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 I miss J.A Happ. I never thought I would say that.

JA Happ sure has a lot to do with them getting on base and scoring runs...... HERP.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 My cat. If Ed Rogers is the one doing the hiring after Beeston leaves you might get your wish.

Seriously. I wish I could go back 5 years and pull up all the "I hope this team keeps tanking so the JP era can finally end" hysteria posts and teach some posters some perspective and self awareness.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Well I guess "injury-prone" is a thing. See: Reyes, Saunders, Lawrie, Lind, etc

I don't disagree but this team is not very good and when you hire someone new there is always hope...and we desperately need hope..
