jayswin11 Verified Member Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 As per the Score. Well that's probably not good.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Oh, same as Joey Bats tight hamstring.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Nothing to see here. Maybe but i am starting to worry about the weighted ball program having an adverse affect on the shoulder. Think about it, Jansen was having shoulder problems and lost a ton of velo. Sean Nolin was on it and was hitting up to 95 in the fall league now he is having shoulder problems. I think Santos, Mcgowan, Delabar were all on it and had there velo drop and minor injuries. Ill be interested to see if Happ can stay healthy this year I believe he was on it last year. Wasn't Cecil even having some shoulder problems last year?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Maybe throwing >50% curveballs isn't a recipe for health?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Nada que ver aquí. He's very fine

The weighted ball exercises and strengthens their arms, to limit injury and induce velocity, that's it.
RIPEXPOS Verified Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I still don't see why we didn't bring back Janssen. I know he fell of a cliff in the 2nd half, but there's a logical explanation for it other than decline (the severe illness and weight loss thing).

I guess AA thinks his decline was more than just his illness, or at least they didn't want to bet money on him. 5 mil would be good value if he returns to being a 1 WAR reliever.

Gorlak Verified Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 perhaps Casey expressing his "frustration" and "disappointment" at last year's trade deadline wasn't appreciated by the brass? I would also say Janssen wanting to test free agency may have made him too embarrassed to come back when his market didn't materialize.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I would also say Janssen wanting to test free agency may have made him too embarrassed to come back when his market didn't materialize. Nah, he signed with a sure fire club.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Nah, he signed with a sure fire club. True. He got around what the Jays would have offered, but with a better chance to win, so likely that scenario never played out. Same could be said about the grumbling he did.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Wilton Lopez, Preston Guilmet, and Matt West got this. No worries.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 It's spring training. He could've just not been sufficiently warmed up after a long toss session and when he started loosening he was tight.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 And it begins. Someone contact Cecil's mom for an exact diagnosis.

JFD Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 the bullpen will be the death of this team again. well done AA.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Don't worry guys, AA has a contingency plan for this Its called, And here is Todd Redmond to close out the ninth.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Is that what your accounting skills tell you? For months people on this board have been crying Cecil Cecil Cecil Jays dont have enough middle relief Cecil No one for late innings Cecil No one to close Cecil There now no Cecil. this is the pen, assuming Sanchez is not in the minors CL Loup SU Redmond SU Jenkins MRP Liam Hendricks MRP Kyle Drabek LRP Ricky Romero Enjoy
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Shouldn't we wait until he's diagnosed with an injury before panicking? Countless players are sore in spring training. Most don't hit the DL.

Most don't hit the DL. Nope. Apparently 70% of the posters on this forum have never followed a full season of baseball before. Everything in spring training matters. Bad performances are very telling, and muscle soreness is a death sentence.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Barry Davis Hope to get an update from Gibbons but Cecil's name no longer appears on the list of pitchers scheduled to work Monday. #bluejays The crappy Raffy Soriano in 3...2...1 Maybe Tanner Scheppers
