Gorlak Verified Member Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Trade for Zack McAllister and Josh Fields. Problem solved. McAllister's 20% career line drive rate makes me think he will always perform worse than his peripherals, I wouldn't bet anything on him anyway. Fields would be good, but would cost a real prospect.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 *BARFS* cf Fields is a pretty good suggestion, big K numbers and isn't too bad with the walks, his biggest issue would be being a flyball pitcher in the RC. Also, knowing the Astros, they'll ask for Pompey.

He might have some Wade Davis magic in him.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 1. 20% LD rate is above average. League average last year was 20.8%. (McAllister career is actually 20.8%) 2. LD% for pitchers takes around 700 IP to 50% stabilize. Well then, for some reason thought league average was around 18%, still wouldn't want him because he would only be useful as starting depth, although it would depend on the price.
