Wow, Cueto is delusional. With his poor numbers in KC and rumors of elbow issues, he's not worth this kind of money in dollars and years:

Zimmerman got $110M over 5 years... Cueto should be able to get $140M easily.

He'll get more than 120, and won't have to pitch in Arizona.

So he wants as much money as two pitchers who are much better than him. Makes sense.

By the way, Steamer pegs Cueto @ 3 WAR next year...not so different from Zimmermann.

I was assuming that his market would be tempered a bit by the concern around his elbow, and how s***** he was with KC.

But I guess you can read between the lines and assume that the medicals are strong.

I really, really hope the Red Sox sign Cueto.

Yeah, that would be very nice. Seems like they might still be pretty dumb.

Shelby Miller talks heating up.

Braves asked Yankees for Severino, Marlins for Ozuna+, Dodgers for Pederson

I'm hoping once most of the top names go the Jays find someone on a good one year deal. Seems to always happen, a guy or two doesn't end up getting the deal he was hoping for and signs for a decent one year deal.

The Jays are a terrible team for a pitcher to sign a 1-year deal with though. Ideally, you would want to sign with a team that has a huge park and great defenders so you can boost your numbers and sign a huge deal the following year. The Rogers centre does not pass the first criteria unfortunately.

Is there still truth to this? Are you actually better off with a 3.6 ERA in San Diego than a 4.0 ERA in Toronto when it comes to your next contract?

Dave Stewart is still a GM. So to some extent, yes.

BB: The first rule of hitting is take steroids

Yes, very funny. It's so refreshing that when Barry Bonds does anything, down come a bunch of super original steroid jokes.

Such a shame most people refuse to appreciate, arguably, the best player of all time.

How did Bonds defeat the aging curve?

Everyone knows he had a good career before 'supposedly' taking steroids but as soon as you do take steroids your legacy and credibility is tarnish. Don't see why that's lost on some. Plus we don't know exactly when he started juicing.

I'm sorry, where have I denied that he used PEDs? Also, he defeated it partly by being the best player ever.
