Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I made up that Williams quote It was a social experiment You're all idiots I thought "brownies" would be a dead giveaway You're the best mate!
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 My favorite part of ted williams was that he flipped his entire family the bird by spending his remaining wealth to cryogenically freeze his body in the hopes that someday old age might cured, instead of letting them inherit it. Classic nice guy move.

Classic nice guy move. Only his head was frozen.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Amphetamines were prevalent in his era though. Whether he admitted to it or not, that was a real thing. Sorry for taking you at your word, won't happen again. Isn't there a massive different between steroids/HGH and greenies?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Isn't there a massive different between steroids/HGH and greenies? Not in the eyes of MLB. They are all legal or illegal, and the bottom line is the intent to cheat. Personally, I completely blame MLB for the steroid era; every professional player is going to do whatever it takes to win and when you create a culture where you pretty much have to juice just to keep up with everyone else, that's on the league. I really prefer today's game but it's not due to steroids outrage.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 2/13 for Chris Young. Good signing with respect to Revere @ 1/6.8 maybe having a bit of value if they want to move him.

I really prefer today's game but it's not due to steroids outrage. Yeah for me it's not really about punishing the users, it's more about rewarding the players who choose to say clean. In the old game, there was absolutely no incentive to stay clean because no one could get caught using. Now if you stay clean, you know that you won't get caught and that's probably enough of a reward for the players who don't really want to use PEDs in the first place. There's actually something in it for them now. Of course, you're always going to have players who have a win at all cost mentality and they will continue to use and those players will look foolish if and when they get caught. In an ideal world, I feel like the distinction between "clean" and "dirty" players would be rendered meaningless. It seems like players interest would best be served if these drugs could be administered legally under medical supervision but the vast web of Western drug use hypocrisy is only just starting to get untangled.

I honestly couldn't believe he got 13M over 2 years, but I think my mind thinks this offseason is still a few years back when a win was 6M.

You have to acknowledge the massive difference between taking steroids and using a foreign substance to doctor the ball. Both are illegal and the intent is to cheat to improve your performance - but they have to be viewed in a different light. I think roids/HGH and greenies are miles apart.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Read between the lines? A trade would be nice, but it's probably just a random life quote tweet.
King Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Read between the lines? A trade would be nice, but it's probably just a random life quote tweet. Mike Stud lyrics
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 A trade would be nice, but it's probably just a random life quote tweet. The possible alternative meaning is probably lost on Sanchez.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Mike Stud lyrics Mike Stud went to Duke. Probably pals with Stroman. Any pal of Stroman is a pal of Sanchez. Edit: Stroman calls Stud, " ".
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Looks like Sanchez hinting he has been traded
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 wat how could you not like Young Joc?
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 how could you not like Young Joc? I like Correa and Trout too, but we're not getting them for Sanchez
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 how could you not like Young Joc? I think it's more like BTS doesn't think it's even remotely conceivable that the Dodgers would consider such a dumbass trade.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I like Correa and Trout too, but we're not getting them for Sanchez Ok let's not get crazy now. From July 1 on, Pederson hit .170 with a .268 wOBA.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Ok let's not get crazy now. From July 1 on, Pederson hit .170 with a .268 wOBA. I wasn't saying they're on par with Pederson
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Ok let's not get crazy now. From July 1 on, Pederson hit .170 with a .268 wOBA. Yes but that's not the point. Do you think Pederson is a realistic return for Sanchez?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Yes but that's not the point. Do you think Pederson is a realistic return for Sanchez? Of course not. I also wouldn't put him near that superstar tier, though. He has some major holes in his swing.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 God damn is he handsome, though.

Laika Community Moderator Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Joc Pederson is handsome? I don't really see it.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Well he's no Bryce Harper/Kevin Kiermeier.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Kinda looks like a mouthbreather there.
