Batters would keyhole everything, pitchers would be too scared to throw any breaking pitches, consider Dickey out of a job

Not our problem by that time

Quoted before you can sneakily edit this when you realize that you are thinking of Darvish...

Oh s***! Who does that? I won't even edit it. I will bask in shame.

Just getting excited to wake up one day and read on MLBTR that the Jays signed Moncada. That, and for OTP 16 to be released next month.

when that day comes, just remember you actually haven't woke up. You just dreamed you woke up and read that the Jays signed Moncada and you are actually still sleeping

Reports from Venezuela continue to portray a grim ordeal for Mariners pitching prospect Victor Sanchez, who was struck in the head by a boat Friday while swimming off a beach at Carupano.

Sanchez, 20, remains in intensive care, reports say, after undergoing surgery for a double fracture on his skull. His condition is “serious but stable,” an unidentified source toldlavinotino.com.

The Mariners have only confirmed that Sanchez, a right-hander, was involved in an accident and taken to a hospital for treatment.

A Venezuelan native, Sanchez signed with the Mariners as a 16-year-old in 2011 for a $2.5 million bonus. He was 7-6 with a 4.19 ERA last season at Double-A Jackson before making seven starts for Caracas in the Venezuelan Winter League.

Yipes... At least "but stable" is a part of that.

The promise of the Seattle Mariners, Víctor Sánchez, who last October was released with Leones del Caracas was hit in the head by a boat while swimming at a beach in Carúpano, Sucre state, a person close to all of Seattle reported, who he requested anonymity anonymously.

The accident, which took place last Saturday at Playa Medina, Carúpano, occurred while the driver of the boat was down and hit his head prospect of water with the propeller engine of the boat.

The right-hander underwent a surgery in the skull shortly after the accident by Dr. Rolando Cobis and was in intensive care at night until Sunday at the Polyclinic Campano, said a source of the medical center.

"He's in critical condition," said Dr. Cobis in a telephone contact on Sunday afternoon. "He was made a craniectomy and drainage of hematomas. Until now is critical but stable within its box. He is still fighting for his life. There vital danger to him. "

The prospect of twenty had ready your ticket to travel next February 20 to the United States.

"He has a head injury," added Dr. Arnaldo Machado, doctor of Sharks La Guaira, who spoke Monday with the neurosurgeon who operated on Sanchez. "The scale of Glasgow measured as the patient with traumatic brain injury evolves and is currently in the middle which is seven. It is still in intensive care, in critical condition and the injury is serious. "

The right-hander family wanted to move it to Caracas but there was no guarantee he could get safely to the capital, why Sanchez will remain under observation at the Polyclinic of Carupano.

The native of Rio Chico, who received a $ 2.5 million signing with Seattle in 2011, left a 4.50 ERA with 18 strikeouts, 10 walks and two homers received in 28 innings in his first internship with hairy the last October in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League.

This quiz is fun in a sad sort of way.

It also made me think of the interesting 1-for-1 trade chain that goes Michael Taylor -> Brett Wallce -> Anthony Gose -> Devon Travis.

Assuming Devon does turn out to be better than Gose and continues the trend of each player being better than the last, a trade for Trout should occur in a few years with this compounding effect!

As someone who had never been a serious baseball fan up until 2011 or so, I did far better on this than I thought I would. I got the top 9 of BP and FanGraphs, and 9 of the top 10 for BBB (missed 8th). The guys I didn't get: Farquhar, Pastornicky, Collins, Cooper, Roenicke and Jackson. I probably would have gotten Cooper if I had more time, but I know I wouldn't have gotten any of the others. Still, I'm proud of a 48/60 score.

If somebody does this for 2012 onwards I know I wouldn't miss any, though I'm sure that is true for most people here.

Taking that quiz, my only real thought was "f*** you, Ricciardi".

Wow he (and his scouts) were terrible at drafting.

I did terribly. Only 5 names. All the name were familiar to me but getting the timeline right is tricky. Some I was surprised to see where already in the system at the time, I would have assumed they came in later. Others were more like bad memories. Guys I remember but hadn't really thought of in a long while. There's one guy I had almost completely forgotten. A huge percentage of these guys were involved in big trades. That would be the best trick I could give for getting the most answers in this quizz. Throw in a few first rounder and you're almost there.

Yeah there's a least one guy that I thought, It's pathetic that he was even considered a prospect because he wasn't even that young and he profiled as a reliever. There's another guy who was already pretty much a bust at that point and shouldn't have still been making lists.

Did it a second time for shits and giggles to see if I would remember everyone. I still fell one name short. Missed another relief prospect.

Im hoping this is the end of the chain. Not an effective strategy to keep trading your "major league ready" prospects for prospects who are a year or two away. I'm not saying that the moves were bad, but the only major league value we've seen so far was from Gose.

It's only innefective if the player turn out to be good. Taylor and Wallace are basically worthless right now so it's good that the Jays got out when they could.

That pleases me. I sincerely hope that contract bites the Sox in the ass. Then again, I hope pretty much everything bites the Sox in the ass :P

Edit: I'll leave the joke that I've obviously set up for someone else...

It comes down to cardiovascular condition and muscle mass, you can be 'heavy' and have a lot of muscle and be in relatively good shape... Panda looks neither of those things really... he looks like the worst kind of shape you can be in: skinny fat

He may have a little upper body muscle but the lower half is definitely lacking, especially for a 3B

He's definitely not skinny fat, I'd go with just fat.
