Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 lol that was great! Rafi is awesome, I enjoyed the first "Rafi" episode, Rafi and dirty Randy go to Vegas, the 2nd one where he meets dirty randy wasnt as funny. Your avatar is great btw, and Archer is also one of the funniest shows on TV. Hurl, you are so right, some people just dont get that brand of humor and will just find Rafi offensive, but to me, and most with a good sense of humor, he is hilarious. I think Archer is really overrated, people just want adult cartoon to be a thing
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 I think Archer is really overrated, people just want adult cartoon to be a thing Nope. So damn funny
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Archer and all H. Jon Benjamin projects are fantastic.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 I think Archer is really overrated, people just want adult cartoon to be a thing Archer is probably the funniest show I've ever seen, season 5 kinda sucked though.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Archer and all H. Jon Benjamin projects are fantastic. Bob's Burgers almost equally amazing.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Bob's Burgers almost equally amazing. I had never seen Bob's Burgers when I saw the episode on Archer with the cross show characters, so much confusion

Possibly the funniest show currently on TV. Archer and all H. Jon Benjamin projects are fantastic. Meh, He's had a couple of weak ones, IMO... Jon Benjamin Has a Van Home Movies Both are rated quite highly, I just never really enjoyed either.

jays76 Verified Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Huge fan of most ensemble comedies that are single camera and don't use laugh tracks- Arrested Development, Community, Parks & Recreation, 30 Rock, The Office. Gave Bob's Burgers a go but wasn't blown away. Haven't tried Archer yet. Loved Eastbound & Down but haven't got around to The League (big Nick Kroll fan though). On the drama side just got into Boardwalk Empire and DYING for the new seasons of Game of Thrones and Vikings.

Vague, eh? 9:09pm - 21 Dec 14 i'm gonna bring this thread back on topic. i think it's fair to say he was just pulling s*** out of his ass with that tweet? He's now reporting that Toritani's decision won't come until the new year. I hate how he sources articles that are written in 100% japanese.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Archer is amazing. Best comedy, and is up there with GoT and BB for top shows. I wish people would stop overrating GoT
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 I wish people would stop overrating GoT I've never really got into GoT - watched a couple of episodes though never got hooked as others. I don't get why some people think it's like the best thing that ever happened to TV. I agree that its overrated.

I don't get why some people think it's like the best thing that ever happened to TV. I agree that its overrated. It's definitely not for everyone. If you are the kind of person who doesn't give their full attention when watching TV, its not for you. You really need to pay 100% attention when watching GoT in order to understand all the intricacies. Even then, if fantasy or political scheming isn't your thing, then you probably won't like the show.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Archer is amazing. Best comedy, and is up there with GoT and BB for top shows. In my opinion Archer is the funniest show on TV right now. I can watch episodes 3 or 4 times and still laugh out loud each time.

It's a great series, though it's not the best thing ever made that hit the screen as GoT fanboys would argue.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Its not overrated at all It's a pretty good show that gets overrated because simple people love gratuitous violence and nudity. It's just entertainment, not very deep or revolutionary.

Laika Community Moderator Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Its a pretty "deep" show. Massive scope of characters and stuff that is covered. He means that it's not very deep as in it doesn't really make you think about things like good entertainment art tends to. Good entertainment art expands your point of view and makes you curious and introspective, it makes you explore things about yourself, other humans, and how you interact with others. When you watch Game of Thrones you just kind of enjoy the blood flying and try to hide your boner from whoever else is in the room. It's about as "deep" of an experience as playing Call of Duty.
