I think the hate stems from how similar our teams are. Always in the shadow of Boston and New York, recently got rosters to compete with the big boys, history of being mediocre for much of the past 15 years.

Was just about to post this. It was obvious that he wants the position, you can tell the way he was talking about it. He's just being PC to maintain professionalism and to not turn his back on his contract. It's damn near exactly like the Farrell situation. Though, if he can't resign, and the Jays getting permission is the only possible way for this to happen, it doesn't seem like Angelos is ready to let go.

I don't see why Ryan would be a bad President. Baseball guy who commands a lot of respect around the league with a long track record of success as a GM in Minnesota. I'd feel a lot more comfortable with him than with Beeston.
