Really surprised me at how blatant it came off, as indirect as it may have been intended. That's gotta be brutal for O's fans. I love it.

 

I think they wanted to ask him the obvious, hard question. Duqette didn't even try to politicize his answer - you could hear the frustration from him essentially being denied a huge promotion by his current boss. Pretty funny!

Im not privy to how MLB monitors these things, but you've gotta imagine that MLB knows that there is still a likelyhood that DD goes to Toronto. Would they monitor their discussions so that DD doesn't offload all the O's assets to Toronto for Izturis?

His contract. It will more than likely have a non-compete clause. The O's own his rights for the 4 years and he cannot take a job with another team. Even if he quits or retires and comes back after, he'd have to go to the O's for the remainder of the contract.
