ScientificReason Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 We have 6 ML quality starters with Sanchez potentially another. Two more in the pipeline (Castro, Osuna) and 2 swingmen in the pen (Hendriks, Redmond). Pitching was a position of depth and we just traded from it. We are set now. We are far from set with this rotation if you seriously want to be a contender
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 AA confirms they are out on Melky.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 We are far from set with this rotation if you seriously want to be a contender I agree. You have to consider the possibility that they are making a run at Lester.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Loved that interview. AA said all the right things.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 No King, this is who they should be going after

Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Saunders + DraftPick + $$$$$$$$ > Melky + Happ
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 I am by no means a Richard Griffin fan but this article sums it up nicely: http://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/2014/12/03/jays_obtain_canadian_fielder_michael_saunders_griffin.html
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 How much money does the Blue Jays have now to spend and If/When they trade Navarro? ~20M + Navarro salary
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Twitter reactions (because there's so many good ones): Is that boxy?
xposbrad Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 at least we got another Canadian back
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 ~20M + Navarro salary Would not be surprised if AA goes the trade route to upgrade SP. Someone like de la Rosa from Col Jays have the salary room and the prospects for a Hamels (gulp!)
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Saunders could never stay healthy in Seattle. That's the only downside of this trade. He can mash in this park though. Be an above average LF. He does have injury concerns, but he played 130 games in both 2012 and 2013

Someone like de la Rosa from Col Jays have the salary room and the prospects for a Hamels (gulp!) I was JUST thinking him (De La Rosa from Colorado, not Hamels lol). Projected 2.4 WAR, making $11 million (compared to Dickey's $12.5). LHP. All good. EDIT: Maybe they can take Michael McKenry with De La Rosa and flip back Josh Thole

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Someone compiled a 160 video long highlight reel on YouTube of Michael Saunders' plays
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 AA this offseason: Time to change you're stupid f***ing poster name.

Key22 Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 With Pitching which would you guys do for about the same money 5 years of Lester for $26 million per OR 7 years Scherzer at $28 million per. Instant shut down Ace of the staff. OR Both Andrew Miller and David Robertson for a combined 5 years $26 million. Set-up and Closer tandem would be the best in baseball with Cecil and Loup as a pretty lethal 7th inning tandem.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Lester Most likely to continue to perform over the term
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Scherzer for me. Top RP that are dominate consistently are rare and both Roberston/Miller don't make me feel otherwise.

And then Luke Gregerson or whatever. I don't care about closing experience or who closes.
