RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 What exactly is the primary reason for not having grass anyways? Is it for the Argos?
Caper Verified Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Is it that hard to get some freaking grass It does feel like something that should take a month to figure out and two months to get down. f***ing Argos.
JaysRap Verified Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 What exactly is the primary reason for not having grass anyways? Is it for the Argos? It is literally the Argos holding this up.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 What exactly is the primary reason for not having grass anyways? Is it for the Argos? The primary reason is that the stadium wasn't built for it and renovations will have to be made to allow for it. The Argos are at most just causing a minor delay in the overall plan.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 So basically we have yet another handicap for being a Canadian Team.
JaysRap Verified Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Sounds like the door isn't completely closed (according to Peter Greenburg)
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Melky's camp is clearly frustrated by the market. I think they expected offers in the 4/60 range to flow in and it just isn't happening. Teams are getting smarter, they know he's more of an average regular than a star. If he continues to not get what he's looking for and Toronto's 3/39 offer is still there in January, I expect he'll come back for that. I like that AA is taking a hard-line stance. Yeah, I'm sure Alex is wobbling his ass over to uncle Pauly's office right after finding out this info and asking for more money That's Melky's plan but I don't think it'll work.

I don't think AA can wait until January to settle the LF situation. He said he wanted to be proactive and not to react to the market. Hope he sticks to that plan

Hope he sticks to that plan Yeah I didn't the impression from the way AA's been talking that he would wait for Melky to come back to him. If Melky wants to re-sign he needs to do it sooner rather than later. AA doesn't want to wait on people like he did in other years. There's a very good chance he addresses the OF before Melky makes up his mind.
baubau Verified Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 They really need to get grass on that turf. Independent of Melky's comments, we've herd enough times throughout the year were enough Jays made their opinions about the turf known. Free agents and people whom have the Jays on their no-trade list also refer to the turf as a negative. In the end, if you pay agents will come but its enough to be driving away some of the players.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Alex Rios, come on down! Pass, no need for that *******.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 the plot thickens Melky isn't even going to get a 3 year deal elsewhere. AA had his value pegged all along

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 This whole situation seems so manufactured. It's more manufactured than how the Twins manufacture their runs.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Buck Martinez should be Melky's agent.
wardhenke1 Verified Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Interesting that 60% of the respondents so far on that ESPN article think that there is more downside than upside in the future with Cabrera. 4 years at $64m? That's a pretty big ask for a guy with a history of PED's and injuries.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Melky want to be back; AA don't want him. Sorry Melky, we don't want you!!

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Would have much rather had Tomas @ 11.3m/yr if Melky gets anywhere near 16. Have you actually seen Tomas swing a bat? What is your opinion based on?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Melky want to be back; AA don't want him. Sorry Melky, we don't want you!! Id love him back if we dont have any other option. 3 years 35 million would probably be max id offer though.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 I really want AA to retain Melky and keep that top 4 of the lineup intact
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 The top 4 is now: Reyes Martin Bautista Edwin Pretty sure I remember reading they plan to hit Martin 2nd. Yeah I read that as well.

Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Lind still woulda looked nice against Rightys in that Lineup
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 My view of this whole thing from the start has been AA just didn't want to sign Melky back but if he can get him on a 3 year deal that would be so sweet.
meatball Verified Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 And how exactly does throwing one of his few suitors under the bus help his case??? Good question, especially where there are teams like Seattle that make it clear that players with his background will not be signed by them. Closing doors and burning bridges must make his agent very happy. This could just be a ploy to get Toronto to spend more to retain him though.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Buster Onley at it again, he's definitely has grudge to pick. All credibility goes down the drain for me. Done with that guy
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
