Good question, especially where there are teams like Seattle that make it clear that players with his background will not be signed by them. Closing doors and burning bridges must make his agent very happy. This could just be a ploy to get Toronto to spend more to retain him though.

I think that covers speculation. I get same impression that he was talking about Lawrie, or even Bautista. Hopefully our new catcher will adjust that kind of thinking... he's actually seen the post season.
