Not too surprising. It's been awhile since the blog could be considered relevant.

http://blogs.thescore.com/djf/2014/11/11/finally-an-announcement-the-shift-is-on/

More than six years after I was given an opportunity that nobody else would have ever given me, my time with theScore has come to an end. It was a decision made back during the summer, though the company was kind enough to keep me on through the end of the MLB season, so as not to throw the blog into total disarray amid the Jays’ ultimately futile playoff run. My final official day was October 31st, which is why I haven’t been able to post on the site since then, as many of you have noticed.

As of today the work I do has a new home, and you will now be able to find it all, exactly as you expect to see it here, at AndrewStoeten.com.

So calling 60% of your audience insuffferable sour pusses is not a good long term strategy??

Sad to see. But a lesson to those who sell out. The ones you sell out to you don't care about you and won't always give you shiny objects. There will always be a place to those who emphasize with the commoners... but Stoeten, like Wilner sold his soul to the Beest...

And of course I know Roger's did not own the Score... but all the same Stoeten sold out to the culture that allowed the Beest to rise. '

Maybe Moogy does = Stoeten??? He just was trolling us as Moogy because he was sad the coorporate bros rejected him??

I like Stoeten.. and he has trashed me a couple of times on twitter. He knows his stuff.... and the pod was pretty good.

"AndrewStoeten.com" - That's seriously what he f***ing called his new site?

What an insufferable prick.

Makes sense to me, that's probably what I would have done. I don't think that makes him an insufferable prick. There's lots of other more valid reasons to call him that imo.

I don't know a whole lot about SEO but I'm pretty sure than an eponymous URL isn't exactly a great choice for a startup baseball blog thing.

What's so bad about andrewstoeten.com? I don't get it.

It's a fine domain for personal blogging or showcasing your previous work and acting as a digital business card. But if he intends to write mostly about the Blue Jays, it seems a little untargeted. And, perhaps, a little grandiose.

baseballishard.com was taken

They guy was known as Drunk Jays Fans for a decade. Now the score owns that name and Stoeten can't take it with him. The only other name recognition he has is his real name, Andrew Stoeten. After getting kicked to the curb I can see him trying to drag his followers with him and the easiest way to identify himself is to use what is most recognizable.

Are you still upset that he called the board "insufferable"?

According to his blog drunkjaysfans.com will point to andrewstoeten.com "soon".

That doesn't mean he owns it. Maybe that is why he has to suck up to them for a while (thanks for the opportunity coorporate dudes, it was nice to walk among the better people for a couple years! what an opportunity!). If he is not nice to them they will point it back to themselves.

The leaders of this board should attempt to buy drunkjaysfans.com and point it here.

Oh that's totally it. For sure. Definitely.

I don't think I can be friends with someone who doesn't find that more than a little obnoxious. It's not like this guy is anybody.

Here's a blog with a similar moniker where it works fine:

http://andrewgelman.com/

You know what the fundamental difference is? People around the world know who Andrew Gelman is. He legitimately is a big deal in his field - his name is synonymous with Bayesian inference. Furthermore, it's also a side project for him and borders on a personal hobby rather than his primary "work". Also note that he doesn't have a gratuitous illustration of his ugly mug on the front page.

On the other hand, Stoeten is an uneducated, un-interesting small time blogger who just got fired. His name means nothing and to pretend it does is laughable.

He played it badly. Though drunkjaysfans.com does point to andrewstoeten.com now.

Why bother with andrewstoeten.com?? Keep the Drunk Jays fans brand. Nobody would even realize that he got fired. Just claim mutual decision not to renew the contract.

"My name is Andrew Stoeten. I have come to a big decision. I have decided to go on my own again so I can say whatever I want about that f*** for brains Beeston. Did I just call Beeston a f*** for brains?? I did... but I didn't really mean it... he's not really a f*** for brains. I mean sometimes he is... but baseball is hard. And you guys know Beeston and Rogers didn't own the Score internet property anyway. But never the less I'm on my own again. Which I think will be a good thing."

I guess he doesn't own the copyright to Drunk Jays Fans name... so even though they redirected the url there he can't brand as DJF.

Yea, sorry. That vitriol really should be directed at Stoeten who I admit I have a bias against. Shouldn't have spilled over to you. My apologies.

No biggie pal. Now I that I know you really hate him I won't push your buttons. I actually don't mind him when viewed through the prism that is Jays-centered journos/bloggers/etc. but that's because it's a pretty low standard. Cheers.
