TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Ryan Goins as our starting 2015 SS just might be enough for me to start cheering for the Rays. And i f***ing hate the Rays. Come to the darkside...plus every Rays fan gets a Joe Maddon sex doll and a how to talk to girl course. Not that you'd ever use it (the course, not the JM sex doll which gets used every day.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 So back to the important stuff. Since I buzzed it down last night, should I Ryan Goins' next? http://s28.postimg.org/z7wyis4zh/buzz.jpg

You should really head to hair loss talk forums for this... lol. I think what you're doing is pretty good though I think even shorter would work better, not like Mr. Clean but like this guy. This way you don't look like a bald pirate (Ryan Goins) and you still have hair for definition. http://cdn.modernman.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/andre_mm.jpg Edited September 17, 2014 by Vincent
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I still think the only way Reyes can be moved is if they talk about a trade with Detroit involving Iglesias.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 And if they don't come? Get out the check book and they will come. They won't be demanding 5-6 year deals so even if u have to overpay a bit on a 3-4 year deal you do it. Even if you can just land one of them there are still guys like Drew and Gregorious (via trade) that you can go after and platoon with Maicer.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I also would talk to the Dodgers about Ethier, the guy has been a pretty solid player throughout his career and crushes righties. Team him up Mayberry in LF and you should be able to get good production.

Dombrowski is a smart guy. I think he'd rather have Iglesias play short than pay Reyes $22M per, especially when he has to replace Scherzer and Martinez. I'm wondering if the Mets would take Reyes back. Something like Reyes for Colon and Tejada (simply a salary dump with no regard for talent coming back). The Mets have been surprisingly cheap since Alderson took over, so maybe not, but they did pay Granderson all that dough that off-season.

Kemp's contract is too long, so Ethier makes more sense. See if the Dodgers would tack something on to make it worthwhile for the Jays (Zach Lee? Alex Guerrero?) and call it a deal. The Jays could probably get someone like Cliff Pennington for a very little as a stop-gap SS in case they miss out on a free agent or can't trade for a better SS.

The guy who dealt Doug Fister for nothing to accommodate the bullpen is a smart guy? He seems like the exact kind of person who would be enamoured with a big name like Reyes.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 The Fister trade was bad, but otherwise he is generally pretty good. He's got two big deals to hang his hat on: Granderson, EJax, couple of relievers for Austin Jackson, Max Scherzer and the Miguel Cabrera trade. Actually, he gave up next to nothing for Fister as well. And Anibal. So he's made some decent moves but quite a few clunkers as well. But it feels like he doesn't just make small mistakes, they are big but covered by some of the great moves he's made.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Maybe we can convince Armaro that Reyes is better then Jimmy Rollins. He probably remembers him from his good old Mets days when he was passable at SS.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 http://gifcrap.com/g2data/albums/TV/Jack%20Nicholson%20fapping.gif Dave Dombrowski would love Jose Reyes!

It's hard to tell since I can't see the shape of your head. Also, what grade did you use? Personally, for white guys, I think keeping it short, but not completely smooth, is the way to go. Agasse and Ryan Goins both have dark complexion, and guys with darker skin tend to look better with shaved heads. Not saying you can't pull it off, just something to keep in mind.
