glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Yeah, right. Like Alex or Gibbons have the guts to tell Reyes he is going to be benched more often.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 How about New president and GM?
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Hopefully some balls will emerge from his Vagina and we won't have to worry about babying him.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Its not like rest is going to help his defence much..He was a terrible SS before he came to Toronto.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 lol...I knew this was coming. It had to be said LOL
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Reyes would be one of my favourite players if he was making 12 million instead of 22 million and was open/willing to move to 2nd base for the benefit of the team.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Expensive player to have resting.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 1B - EE 2B - Reyes SS - Goins (I threw up a little in my mouth just there but 20-30% less than I used to) 3B - Lawrie Bench IF Valencia + Kawasaki or better (I'd like to upgrade that bench spot) You know what, no, I don't think that's good enough. He should get a legit 2B or SS and have Valencia and Goins on the bench. Getting a 3B and moving Lawrie to 2B is no good either because it means Reyes at SS again.

Ryan Goins as our starting 2015 SS just might be enough for me to start cheering for the Rays. And i f***ing hate the Rays.

I just consider Lawrie a bench player and anything he does healthy is a bonus... much like morrow We need something better than Valencia to serve as 3B replacement next year.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Should GM's expect a bounce back season from Stephen Drew? He couldn't have possibly had a worse year and he's still only 31. Plus I think we could/should give him the short stop gig which is what he wants. He may also have to take a 1 year deal again this year which would be great.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 SS - Goins (I threw up a little in my mouth just there but 20-30% less than I used to) This isn't terrible if don't also have Gose in CF and Pillar in LF, and you have a non-useless middle infielder on the bench. I could probably also handle Goins at short and a Gose/Pillar platoon in CF. Just don't think you can punt any more spots in the batting order than that though.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 I just looked up Drew's numbers again. He went from bad in Boston to worse in New York. Still a slighty plus defender though.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 If Reyes is unwilling to move, trade him. Might have to take back a s***** contract but at least they wouldn't be hamstrung by one player's stubbornness. Use Melky's money to sign JJ Hardy and trade Reyes for Ethier and Guerrero.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 So they spend a fortune changing the turf. Does this mean no grass? Starting to think the grass is a pipe dream. Not Reyes fault he gets hurt on this frigging turf. Yes he should move to 2nd which I'm sure would help the defense but this turf change isn't just for Reyes,s benefit.

My thoughts almost exactly but you're already gambling with the OF offense. I'd really rather upgrade one of the IF spots and have Goins on bench. Especially since we have two of our regular infielders (Reyes and Lawrie) who miss a LOT of time.

If the grass doesn't happen, we will need you to lead a pack that will kidnap Paul Beeston, wrap him in artificial turf and roll him down Yonge Street while people throw stuff at his stupid lying head.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Why not do like Tampa and have giant lanes of dirt where the runners run and the infielders play?? That's what he played on in New York and Miami cause that's what they have in stadiums with grass!
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 The Blue Jays need a president like Tim Leiwike. Obviously he won't be coming here but they need someone who isn't afraid to stand up to ownership. Guarantee you if Leiwike is here grass would be installed in the next 2 years and payroll for next season would be in the 160 million range.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I'd really rather upgrade one of the IF spots and have Goins on bench. Oh, I'd absolutely love to have someone better than Goins, but pretty much resigned to the fact that Goins, Gose and Pillar are probably all in the Opening Day lineup.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Reyes willing to move to 2B would make AA's job a lot easier with much more options to look at in the off season. He'd essentially have to fill 1 of either a 3B, SS or 2B, being able to move Reyes & Lawrie around accordingly.

Seems totally stupid to spend money on new Turf. Just put the frigging grass in if you are going to do it anyway . I wish MLB would set a date that all stadiums have grass and that would also solve the Tampa situation.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Couldn't they just 'slice away' part of the terf for the time being to put in a full dirt infield same as Trop? Probably be easier on all infielders as a temp solution.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 lol what a prima donna!

kgm1 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Martin Pra......Oh wait!? What is worse is the Padres asked for Fransisco and a couple of MEH prospects and NO money and AA didn't want to part with Francisco
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 What is worse is the Padres asked for Fransisco and a couple of MEH prospects and NO money and AA didn't want to part with Francisco and now Fransisco cant part his ass from the pine he is riding. seriously, is he still on the team?
