Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 GTAchick78 ICYMI from early this morning: I'm hearing that Nolan Reimold has been DFA'd. Kevin Pillar recalled. #BlueJays
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 Excellent. Reimold is awful. He's s***
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Good move. It's time for Pillar to show he can hit at the MLB level though.
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 He's s*** But Wilner said getting Reimold was better than the Yankees getting Drew, Prado, Headley, and McCarthy?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 But Wilner said getting Reimold was better than the Yankees getting Drew, Prado, Headley, and McCarthy? no kidding. Those players are making a difference for NYY and will help them next month in their WC push. We rotate one replacement level player in for another from the waiver wire or the farm. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 But Wilner said getting Reimold was better than the Yankees getting Drew, Prado, Headley, and McCarthy? I can't have this conversation!!
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 But Wilner said getting Reimold was better than the Yankees getting Drew, Prado, Headley, and McCarthy? Some reasonable guy - "... and you know I love this team Mike, you know I do. But I see the Yankees going for it. They get Headley and other guys, and I just wonder why we didn't do anything at the deadline??" Wilner - (long pause) (phony confidence) Nobody?? Are you even watching the games?? (long pause) (arrogance) Kevin Reimold is nobody?? (condescending) Now he wasn't acquired at 4:00 on July 31st. I'll give you that. (another pause, arrogance shifts to phony reasonableness) Let's be reasonable. Reimold was an mid season acquisition and a good one. So don't tell me Alex Anthopoulos isn't improving this team.

Not to mention that Danny Valencia is f***ing Babe Ruth to Wilner.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 You guys are forgetting that Wilner loves Pillar (I'll let you guess why) too, so he'll be onboard with this.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Not to mention that Danny Valencia is f***ing Babe Ruth to Wilner. He costs 500k and can do what they asked of him against LHP. That was a pretty good pick up imo. It was never enough. Jays massacred this season with what we didn't do last off season and at the deadline. We needed to "tread water" until Lind and Edwin came back some said? What a joke...we had holes we didn't truly address in the rotation and pen and line up prior to them going down.
GNick49 Verified Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Get better look at Pillar as he likely in OF next year. Odds are Rasmus and Cabrera be gone
Vincent Verified Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Good hes super s*** but it should be Gose not Pillar. I was hoping I would never have to see him again. Yeah no, we already know what Gose is. We don't know what Pillar is. We're playing for next year now.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 lol Gose is just fuming right now.
Vincent Verified Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 lol Gose is just fuming right now. I don't know why he would, he's proven zero offensive improvement in AAA.
Art Vandelay Verified Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 But Wilner said-? No he didn't.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Excellent. Reimold is awful. So is Pillar.
baconpancakes Verified Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 geez. Gose should be up. Next will be gose in center. Ras can take his terrible numbers and have some other team overpay for him. Spend the dollars saved on melky. To say this team needs a total overhaul is an understatement. Outside of Jose, lind, lawrie Melky and a handful of pitchers, this team needs a lot of work before we even snif the post season.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) So is Pillar. Yeah, but at least this means that Reimold likely won't be tendered a contract in the offseason. He's replacement-level and out of options, so $1.5 million or whatever he'd earn next year would have been money poorly spent. At least Pillar can be optioned next year and will make close to the minimum. Edited August 26, 2014 by BTS

When this season is finally over it will be time to pass judgement on this collection of players assembled at great cost to our future, and there will be no greater indictment of the FO than our record. 140-153 and counting....
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Don't think you meant a "QO" there. At least, here's hoping. Tendered a contract I believe he meant. But they couldve kept him on the roster until the end of the season, then just not tender him a contract for next year. This doesnt make any sense to me with the rosters expanding in 5 days.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 So this move was supposedly not disciplinary but to make room for Morrow and Norris being added to the 40...yet Colt Hynes, Matt Hague and Neil Wagner remain on the 40. This is another Blue Jays front office making a short term assessment move (not necessarily wrong as I don't think Reimold is anything at all). All I've ever asked is that everyone on the 40 have a potential role or upside in some way. Yet he continues to fill it with...filler.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 For those complaining that Gose wasn't added again instead of Pillar, I don't believe he can be recalled yet (unless there's an injury).
immature Verified Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Come on Pillar, have a good finish to the season! Become our very own Vlad-lite.
Vincent Verified Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 If Pillar is in the outfield next year I probably stop watching until hes not. So far hes been f***ing awful at the major league level. ftfy

Where did that speculation come from?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Disciplinary? Because of the mistake he made in extra innings? Where did that speculation come from? Wouldn't a disciplinary measure be throwing your bat in the tunnel after your manager takes you of the game for a pinch hitter?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Wouldn't a disciplinary measure be throwing your bat in the tunnel after your manager takes you of the game for a pinch hitter? I thought he was talking about Reimold. I don't think Pillar was taken off the 40 man when he was disciplined.
