Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I hope AA is in ninja mode and working on something. I dont' want a deal for the sake of a deal but it's annoying seeing these other teams make some kind of improvements while we do minor things if that. Easier said than done I know. Only thing the Jays should be doing today is looking for a Right Handed Reliever. Don't need any position players, I think if you are getting a front of the line starter you will have to over pay. I just don't think there is going to be any value to be had.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Breaking news: Jays traded BTS to the Rays for cash considerations (10 dollars) Wait a minute!!!..............That trade happened 10 years ago. I'm reading the MLBBlueJays message board.

I'm happy if they can just acquire a 7/8 inning BP arm which shouldn't dent the system much. If things don't work out this season I want the option to blow things up with dynamite and have the young studs to build around.

If the right deal comes along, then do it, but the overpay that could occur would be suicidal. I'd like to see AA pick up a piece that helps push the Jays into the division lead, pitching is always good, but I think you're right when a RHRP who can be trusted to come in late and slam the door would be a good improvement. Our rotation hasn't been horrible, though I do worry a bit in the coming weeks what might happen if Hutch struggles/fatigues and if Stroman has an innings limit and we're as close as we are now in the standings. One start could be the difference.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Alex, do something!! Jays acquire Adam Lind, Edwin Encarnacion & Brett Lawrie from The Disabled List for cash considerations ^ in 2 weeks
snowmagician Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 And that's in a pitchers park. In the AL East he'd be done. Yes let's focus on 4 starts Let's forget about the rest of his season and use sample size when its convenient to prove our point The mark of a true fan
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Jays acquire Adam Lind, Edwin Encarnacion & Brett Lawrie from The Disabled List for cash considerations ^ in 2 weeks Actually Brett may be Monday or Tuesday and Lind by the end of next week and EE i don't know.

snowmagician Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Jays acquire Adam Lind, Edwin Encarnacion & Brett Lawrie from The Disabled List for cash considerations ^ in 2 weeks Which one of the above is a front line started or a shutdown reliever
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Which one of the above is a front line started or a shutdown reliever A win is a win is a win
snowmagician Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I just want a good shut down reliever I think this bullpen is weak and Sanchez is unproven. McGowan blows the occasional.game and Cecil is okay for middle relief They need another veteran reliever who is capable of giving 20-30 important innings I know AA won't acquire that and I know we will see Sanchez start to struggle once he cab no.longer throw strikes But forget it people here just don't understand. They get prospect happy. They didn't see McGowan get hurt or Romero become garbage or Cecil become unreliable. They've forgotten morrow walking 8 guys They fall in love with players
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Which one of the above is a front line started or a shutdown reliever We will win with great offense, good defense and acceptable pitching
bowld Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) Price to the Tigers! WOW Sorry MLB Network just posted a fake Ken Rosenthal twitter..lol Edited July 31, 2014 by bowld MLB Network trolled
snowmagician Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 We will win with great offense, good defense and acceptable pitching Yeah and no one will definitely get injured for sure from this point forward Depth = overrated Lind and Lawrie will not get hurt. Despite the fact that history tells us otherwise
GoFlamesGo Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Jays won't do anything. They already made their move to get an AAAA player in Valencia.
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Might be hard to believe, but we should be making moves to improve the team and not simply to make a move. Valencia while not being sexy fills a need that we had. If we can go out and do another Valencia type move that addresses 1 other hole (say a good reliever) it would probably have just as big an impact as trading the farm for 2 months of Lester. What about trading the farm for 2 playoff runs with Price leading the charge at a WS?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Three between Tampa/Detroit/Seattle with Price going to Detroit was being worked on last week.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 What about trading the farm for 2 playoff runs with Price leading the charge at a WS? Go get Price and then what? Where is the money going to come to fill out LF, CF, 2B, CL, etc.... Price would eat up all the remaining payroll and we would be even worse depth wise next season.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Omg do something AA!!! Anything!!! AA already threw away a great pitch-framing catcher for the Royals' used trash and people still want him to wreck this team even more?
