  1. Pompey looks good, I don't know why I skipped him when I was writing that up. Still, only having two guys that are possible legit bats is kind of pathetic considering you have to go all the way back to Lind and Hill for the last time the Jays actually developed some hitters that could hit at the MLB level. Nobody else has for any period of time other than dingers (JPA) (Lawrie is hurt so much that who knows how good/bad he'll be long term)
  2. Is it just me or do the Jays have about 0 legit position prospects outside of Pentecost. (don't consider Gose a prospect and even he's meh) Part of me wants the jays to blow it up so we can get some prospects that might actually contribute at the major league level besides pitching. All of our recent graduations have all blown to various extents. Arencibia, Lawrie, Gose, Goins, Sierra, Snider etc. It's just frustrating that they can't improve the major league team through $, and they have no reinforcements coming through the organization. Add in the likely departures of both Melky and Rasmus with likely nothing of significance replacing Cabrera and it makes for a bit of an annoying time as a jays fan.
  3. Translation, there were no deals that made sense because it would cost too much to have the other team send finances.
  4. Jays won't do anything. They already made their move to get an AAAA player in Valencia.
  5. The jays will only dumpster dive for trash. They can't add any money, and to get a contract covered, it will cost majorly in terms of prospects. I'd be surprised if we acquired anything else, let alone anything of note.
  6. The odds of the jays getting their thumb out of their ass to do anything is none outside of getting a player or two that is about as good to be a AAA utility player.
  7. Soon we'll start getting called up.
  8. trying to save yourself. unfortunately I voted King before seeing that.
  9. I know what you mean. It's so frustrating that they went all in half way. They got Buehrle Dickey and Reyes, but then stopped there when they just needed a couple other small things to go all the way in. Now they are stuck in no man's land of being not bad enough to just trade everyone away, but also so constrained that we can't seemingly afford another dollar.
  10. I would look at trading all of Dickey, Happ, and Buehrle for prospects. With Stroman and Hutchison both being great thus far, with Norris, and Sanchez not far behind, why not cash in the other 3 pitchers and fill some holes. We can always sign a pitcher or two in the offseason. I'm not sure I'd stop there frankly. The Jays, while being near the top of the AL east, they have been in a real tailspin for the last month, and the holes that were getting covered by the hot streak are coming out to play and it doesn't look good.
  11. If the Jays go 15-13 between now and the AS break, we'll be in a great position. I don't expect the dead bats to be dead for long.
  12. As long as the Jays win around 15 more games before the All Star Break, I'm fine with that.
