JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 s***, I can't imagine the price someone will pay for Price.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I'm hoping something does happen if not today sometime in the next few in an August deal if possible. The team roster isn't horrible, but there is a piece or two needed even with the regulars back. But if it means dealing players that we can't afford to then no sense in doing it. sellers market and the prices are ridiculous. sure AA could go get a player who is a redundancy of what they already have, but I think they need to roll with this and if they are healthy and in it, make a waiver move in the end of August. If Lind, EE, Lawrie and the rest of the team are not healthy and performing well it wont matter if they make a move now. If all those guys are back and the pitching continues they will have a shot without having to sell their soul.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I'd be pretty happy if we could get Price for Sanchez, Nolin, Nay and Pompey (or Dwight Smith Jr). I don't know if those pieces get it done though.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Alex, do something Rasmus to Seattle for Nick Franklin would be nice
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I've always expected Tampa to trade Price. They probably have an acceptable deal and are going to drag it out to the deadline.

bowld Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Price to the Angles is my guess. They have to do something to keep up with Oakland
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Price to the Angles is my guess. They have to do something to keep up with Oakland The Angels don't have much to trade unless they're willing to include Tyler Skaggs and other MLers.

I know the idea of making a trade where we are not getting the best value is wildly against what a lot of people believe in, but with the state of our team, including how AAhas shown his biggest strength is building a farm system, i think trying to get Price is the way to go.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Urias/Seager/Pederson, I want to this happen I bet they'd go after Pederson and Guerrero, then trade Zobrist for a haul.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Latos appears that he could be moved for the right price. He's a guy I would move a Sanchez for. Edit: Wow did not see how much his numbers have declined. I knew he declined but didn't think it was by that much.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Urias/Seager/Pederson, I want to this happen I would f***ing hate the dodgers if they did that, team f*** you dodgers for life if that happens

If all those guys are back and the pitching continues they will have a shot without having to sell their soul. I like that idea a bit better. The team is riding high right now, are heading into a series against a team 20 games under .500, a good chance to take some more games there. If the big boys come back and are healthy and produce, then it's one less thing to worry about. The price right now especially as we head about 2hrs from the deadline will drive some prices up. a lot can happen in August especially with some of the games to be played against the Os. Other teams might fall out of contention and willing to sell off a player so might be a better time to pick up a piece after evaluating where the team is at full strength. I'd like to see maybe a solid RP to help out, maybe if a bench bat was available, someone who could make solid contact or hit for some power for late in the games. Goins is back showing off the leather and his bat isn't the liability that it used to be so that has helped. I'm a bit worried about the pitching mostly with Hutch and Stroman if they might have inning limits or tire since they haven't had the full MLB seasons yet. Happ always scares me that he might implode in a start. Unless AA has a can't miss deal in the next couple of hours August might be when, or if, something happens. The team is confident now which helps too. I'm sure teams are asking about some of the better prospects left and the Jays have to thinkk about the next few years as well. Eh I rambled a bit again.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Latos being dangled? Pleeeeeeeaaaaassseeeeee
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 The trade market has really opened up... wow.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Latos being dangled? Pleeeeeeeaaaaassseeeeee I'd love Latos. I believe he has the same amount of control left as Price does and likely won't cost as much as Price through trade. He'd be a nice under the radar move!
Davie Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 36s David Price's name has surfaced in talks between Rays and Tigers, sources say. Not clear if there's been progress toward deal. Does Detroit have the pieces to aquire Price?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 It would be so cool just to be in a war room of a MLB team just to hear what actually goes on. So exciting.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Last two hours prior to the deadline is getting good. It's like being a kid on Christmas morn'

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Price to the tigers, Sherzer to mariners, porspects to the rays? edit: hypothetical
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 If Sportsnet was smart they would have a trade deadline show and have a round table with Davidi, BNS and even Wilner. Instead we have to watch Tim and Sid and listen to Jeff Blair make a fool out of himself.

It's too bad they can't do a reality show on it, but they'd probably never get another player to sign with them again lol.
